Here’s my version of Celticwerks Fountain base. This will not get done as fast as Rob’s as I’m painting mine with Humbrol enamels. I’m not so sure about my color selection for the coble stones. But we’ll see how they turn out with some filters and washes.

Looks good John. Mine is in gray so it's good to see one with diff colors. Like T said, the pigs will make the difference.

Thanks Rob, My Idea was to go over the stones with some gray washes.

I had used the AK panzer gray CM paints, they are thin enough as is but I thinned to get a filter from them. This allowed for blending. Was going to use oils but figured I would give the CM paints a go. I am going to use a dust and pig was on my fountain base. The fountain will get red bricks and then grouting with a paint/pig mix. we'll see if that works ....LOL

OK, time for a small update on this one. The base was given a flat clear coat from a spray can of testers dullkote. Then an oil wash was applied. I applied AK’s Nato filter to the side walk section to break it up from the rest of the stonework on the fountain. Next came a heavy dry brush of Humbrol Matt 67 to the coble stones. Once all this dries, I’ll give it another wash and some more dry brushing gradually putting some layers into this.

Sure thing Steve, Neither of these are finished yet, but I temporarily installed the tracks on the Stuart to give an idea of what it would look like. I’m thinking of building a wood frame around the base. That would help with the overhang a bit. I agree Dicky, this thing has been a pure blast to paint so far!!

I like it Big John!
A building would have over-powered the tank.
Looks really nice- but as the guys said- a frame would take it up another notch.
Good stuff!
