Hi,
After around 20yrs I'm returning to the hobby! i have just purchased the AFV club Chaffee tank as my first model to start with and it looks very nice. My main interest will be AFV's in 72nd and 35th scale and hope to get into a routine with completing one model before starting another. I also have ordered the Paladin from AFV club as it's mainly modern AFV's that grabs my interest. Also looking at getting into figure painting after purchasing some Alpine miniatures. Looking at the way manufactures are pumping out kits now we seem spoilt for choice, however I would like more support vehicles like engineers types. thanks Mark Griffiths

Hi,
Welcome back. Great choice in kits and figures. One thing to consider is AFV Club kits are great just a little finicky in assembly. I was in the same boat as you about 3 years ago with a 2 decade cool down period. A friend of mine recommended picking up a Tamiya Sherman for $20 just to shake off some of the ring rust. Tamiya kits from the 90's forward just sort of fall together. I'm glad I did because I did make mistakes from being out of practice. Plus that Sherman has graduated to test mule, so I still get use out of it when trying out new paints or techniques. Just a quick search shows you can get a Tamiya Bradley for around $20 on eBay.
Cheers and welcome back!

Welcome back Mark!!! We have things in common... 20+ years break, armor builds, big fan of Alpine figures. The only thing that we are not in common.. Chaffee being your first build while Chaffee (old Italeri kit) was my third build. LOL Close enough you can say!
Look forward to see your build here and don't hesitate to holler if you need help. Be sure to holler louder because I am really deaf...

20 year hiatus...things have changed! My layoff was "only" about 14 years, but I couldn't believe the difference in kit and aftermarket quality and selection.
