Hi everyone from snowy Joliet. My name is Sonny. New to the site and starting to get back into modeling. Like most of you I've built them for fun
and at times to keep boredom at bay. Other than modeling, I also collect music; 1,100+ albums, 250+ 45's, countless 8-tracks and players.
(including a portable (10 D-battery) Zenith 4-speed (16,33,45,78rpm) quadrophonic record/radio/8-track player. The last model I built was a
"rebuild". It was a 16th scale Mark Martin #6 Valvoline Talladega Edition die-cast. I disassemble and then fully plumbed the car, wrapped the cage
and vinyl wrapped the seat, added led lighting to the gauge package. I did it for a fundraising auction for a local car club who were donation their
proceeds to a local JDRF chapter. That was in 2000. I have recently found an old box of models I had stashed away; of 16th and 8th scale models.
There are funny cars, dragsters, motorcycles and F1 cars. The one I am looking for first to get missing parts for is my MPC Dodge Street Charger.
I have not been able to find what I'm looking for on Google. The one I have is molded in black, gray and white. I have found complete models molded
only in white. Those are import only and are not sure if the parts are the same because I need only a few parts to finish. I need the bell housing,
drive shaft, L&R upper tubular control arms, and the rear axle plates and rear springs; although I probably could pass on those because I am making
it a working suspension. Pen springs are used on the front for the coil-overs with .5mm tungsten wire used thru the lower control arm, tie-rod ends,
center link and pit-man arm for pivot points. I'm using 1/16th e-clips to retain backing plate to front spindle for free tire rotation. The other one I'm
looking for is a 1/16 scale Outlaw midget for my driver. Our auto shop also builds bracket and other race engines and one of the guys races midgets.
I would like to build one for him to auction off for his charity that sponsors him, Autism Speaks. Thanks for reading; although this it's self; was like
a model without directions.
