Just saying "Hello". I'm a lapsed kit assembler, now just a voyeur... If I ever get back to doing anything, it will probably pop up on the PAGB.
Regards,
M

Am afraid it will work on you. Before coming here I only did WWII tanks, now I have done modern armor and figure busts. And I have ships in stash... Welcome aboard M!

Thanks to all for the warm welcome. There's a lot of inspiration here - even if nothing gets built, I can dream. I do intend to build stuff - one day; not today, maybe tomorrow - it's always tomorrow, because there's always something else that needs done today... My ability to procrastinate passes normal comprehension, my oldest "paused" project was converting the Airfix HMS Warspite to "Queen Elizabeth" in her WW1 condition, started based on an article in the original "Airfix Magazine" in the late '60s (or maybe 1970, couldn't be later) which went on hold as I gathered more information and realised the original article had errors, and later that it was a near impossibility to get right. I emphasised "was" because it wasn't entirely abandoned (after a mere four decade hiatus) until the 1:700th Trumpeter kit was acquired last autumn... Cheers, M

Just a quick note to say how useful I've found this Forum already. Although my skills don't match those displayed here (even back in the day, and they'll be really rusty now) I can at least consider doing some things I hadn't before. Thanks to the advice and links I found here I've found the instructions for the Trumpeter 1:700 USS Quincy (I bought the Vincennes, but it'll be easier to build it as Quincy) and learned a thing or two about using Foamed PVC...
Regards,
M

Looking at the standards on this Forum, it wouldn't be much of a duel, these days I'm just considering clagging some bits of plastic together (no PE, no fine rigging, etc...). At this rate I might even give up on the glue and go back to Lego! For me, adding weight in the nose of an aircraft with a tricycle undercarriage is to enhance the dent it makes when it eventually impacts the wall... Cheers, M
