Nice results and a very innovative technique! Sorry if you've already mentioned it; but, what kind of paint are you using? I'm using Vallejo Air and to thin destilled water with a drop of washing up liquid. A bit more progress - 5th coat of 4BO: Followed by the inevitable 6th and final coat with some detail painting: Now it'll get a filter of oil paints. More soon, hope you're all enjoying it. Cheers, Dierk

Hey Dierk! This looks awesome!! Great build (like always)! If you paint the sprokets on the rear seperate, dont place the mudscrapers. Then you have a hard time placing the sprokets. Very intresting way to paint! I like it!

Very intresting way to paint! I like it! Hoi Remco - where there is a will there is a relative I temporarily fixed the mud scrapers in place with masking fluid, so I can remove them after painting, fit the sprocket and then glue the scraper in place. Went a bit over-board with the oil dot wash (poke): Then gave it a layer of dust using an approximate 50/50 mix of Vallejo Khaki and Ivory: I'd only tacked on the mudguards with a couple of drops of CA, since the pictures were taken I've removed them to make fiddling about with the tracks easier. Thanks for looking, hope you're still enjoying it. Dierk

Lots of dots there Dierk! But that in combo with the dust coat produced a nice effect.

Thank you very much for the kind feedback, gents! Almost finished bar a bit of tidging here and there. Although I'm quite happy with the result, if I'm honest, the painting technique I used is probably more suitable for more subtle weathering than I favour. For the mud and dirt I used some of Adam Wilder's new line of products - and I relly love them! Still have to fit the headlight lense: Once again I used soot from a candle to do the exhaust (insert another word for 'soot' to avoid repetition ) After pretty quick initial progress, I've started to slow down - I don't know what it is, but the closer a model gets to being done, the more I lose interest in it? Thanks for looking and hope you're still enjoying it, Dierk

Great job, Dierk Wilder's mud looks really interesting, does it come also in wet tones? Cheers mate - well, the Dark Brown earth looks sort of damp - but for the wet look you'll probably have to add gloss laquer/wet effects/future - judge for yourself. I'll do an experiment on my next model and let you know. Got a nice SBS on an unusual winter with-wash planned - there's a clue to the model I'm going to use in the background of the picture with the Wilder prods. If you've spoken to our 8-legged friend you probaly already know what the method is

He keeps you secrets well, mate We were talking about his T-34T and my topolino, mostly, with some wandering into BTR-152 territory, that's it.

great work and that mud does look interesting The mud is really easy to apply and come in fine and rough (textured) - no more messing around with plaster, sand etc to give your pigments some volume.
