M50 Super Sherman - 1/35 Cyber-hobby **COMPLETE**

Ok well the new improved model\office\man cave needs something on the bench. So its going to be the Israeli M50 Super Sherman.

Just ordered my Life Color IDF set. Been working on cleaning up the road wheels and bogies. What a mess, sprue attachments were HUGE and a ton of clean up to do.

So first off I am going to complain.....yeah no surprise there. This is a hodgepodge kit. Cyberhobbie threw in M4A3E8, M4A3, and a sprue for the M50...............WOW! screw stuff up much?

So far the fit is not all that bad. The exception to that is coming up in photos.

Bogies are done after about a week of cleanup:

and the nightmare. there are NO! and I mean ZERO connection points to mount the bogies...............NICE GOING DRAGON! Im telling you its a communist conspiracy.

Ill have to file the two little protrusions off at the very bottom and sand flat:


and do the same on the bogie at the bottom center:


I will have to drill pilot hols in both and place a piece of styrene rod in order to give some sort of support, just gluing these two together is a recipe for disaster. Before that I will get the general parts of the upper hull assembled and attached. It will be a wee bit more sturdy that way.

Well its starting to look like a Sherman. I got the upper hull attached and some small bits.





Was getting ready to get some more smaller bits attached and then the next nightmare popped up. Not one hole is supposed to be where anything in the instructions are to go. NOT ONE! So all this needs to be filled and Ill check some photos and get the parts attached.



Im off to fill useless holes..................wait.................that didnt sound right..........oh well.

That's one of the downsides to Orange box kits...you never know what you're going to encounter by way of useless holes! I see much putty work in your immediate future Bob but nothing you can't handle.

Ok I got most of the upper hull fiddlies on, one or two more small ones left. Making sense of the instructions is a freaking mess.









Should have some more progress this week and Ill get some pics up. Still waiting on the Life Color IDF set. Apprently internet Hobbies is freaking back logged at the moment but they said it should go out today.

Jeff - I had to caress it gently to get to where it is now. Kit came with DS tracks, But all the track horns have to be glued on............OMG! hundreds of them>
