Brilliant figures... but - please dont be offended - the faces look a bit very strange. Washings and highlights would help a lot, far more than painting large pupils. Thats not as difficult as it sounds like. Everyone has his own style, but thereare some basic rules: www.youtube.com/watch?v=no2zBike6Q0

Tackling civilian figures is always tougher than military but you've got some nice variety in the clothing and outfits going here Leon. Keep on practicing, you're definitely getting better with each set you attempt.

Decent job on the figures.Faces aren't my strong suit, I haven't attempted the eyes, I go with the wash method, but mine look like mannequin faces some times.

Nice start with dio and figures. Trumpeter US set is good. I have it. Details are nice but faces of soldiers are not so good. If you are in possibility to change them, do that. Looking forward to this project.

Leon, if you use acrylics it is very easy to achieve a good face finish: Paint the shadows and lights with diluted colour (to the concisty of milk) and apply the mixed colours for shades with a pointed brush in the areas where they belong. Unload the brush on a piece of kitchen paper; you have to repeat the progress some times, the layers have to be very smooth and transparent. This way you can paint in all light and darken areas on the figure!

AMERICAN SNIPER seems to be a Must See movie for me. I really loved LONE SURVIVOR and I highly recommend this film to every film fanatic. It is very sad, full of action and drama.
You base looks very good till now. Lonesome in some way and it captures the flatness of the desert. What grass will you use, I mean from a colour point of view? Maybe adding some garbage like coca cola bottles or something like that lying around could add some colour spots. Or a little lizzard lying in the shadows.

A simple, but convinging base! Meng does Coke bottles, as well as Plus Models from CZ, if you have the possibility to get these. If you want (but thts only a suggestion of course) you can give the sand area more depth wit either oil color (burnt umbra works well in most cases) or tempera acrylics.
Looking forward for more!

I must be at Burger King cuz I'm loving it! The concrete barricades look great. The guy in the blue jacket reminds me of Sasha in "Behind Enemy Lines". He's the guy that pursues the Owen Wilson character. Image used for discussion purposes only.
