For those of us who remember the lines at the gas stations in the seventies this tile will make sense. While I'm figuring out what to do about the stalled project I started earlier I decided to occupy my time with some LHS finds This kit is being much more co-operative It also has tiny little track links but at least they stay together when dry fit. Too bad Tristar went under, this is a pretty nice kit in spite of thick attachment points along with a few other minor gripes. Regards, Mark

I remember hearing that another manufacturer (can't recall which one exactly) bought the Tristar molds so you may see these resurrected again in the near future. Looks like this one is going to cooperate more than the T-26 for sure. Off to a good start Mark!

Looking good. I heard and read so much good stuff about Tristar but never bought any of their kits. Miniart Dioramas. Hard core modelling!

Thanks gents
Leon as per my usual stinginess of effort I only paid attention to the visible interior
Bbrownii this is my first Tristar and I'm favorably impressed
Bill that'll be happening later today
T thanks and it's funny to be working with a commercial base but I'm beginning to like these MiniArt bases alot
Deano thanks and yes this one is not fighting near as hard as the other. I will, however, take the ohter back up once the set of MK tracks I found for it arrives.
Nest stop paint
Regards, Mark

Leon, Petros, thanks guys Deano that's MM acrylic Schwarzgrau base with three layers of MM enamel Lichtgrau filter. Thanks also brother Today's damage I need to stabilize the vacuform base somehow as it will be too fragile left hollow. To that end I'm thinking of using some of Wingy's discovery, Durham's water putty. I'll just invert the base, pour some in, let harden, and it'll be rigid and strong. Yes? What can go wrong?? Regards, Mark

Hi Marc , I know you are in the building trade ? so getting decorators filler should be easy enough ? I used this before to fill the underside and it worked a treat less messy too .

Hey Deano
I've been in the building trades on and off for close to forty years now but I'm not doing it for a living anymore; I make better money as a Registered Nurse or a tractor trailer driver. I'm getting a bit long in the tooth for 40 hours a week of such work also.
There's a place called Lowe's about six miles down the street from me and they have all sorts of outstanding goodies; this Durham's putty is available there and I acquired eight pounds of it. Probably have enough I suppose...Good to hear that you've tried this successfully my confidence has been boosted.
Regards, Mark

Hey Mark...The Pz. looks great As soon as I stared to read the wobbly base post I was think that I had the perfect idea to suggest. Had no idea I had already done it telepathically. I got one of those rubber mixing bowls from Micro Mark but is too big and the Durhams doesn't come off as easy as I had hoped. Still it will be good if i ever need a large bath. I was using the big plastic Solo cups, much better and just toss them when your done. Now I save the 2lb Greek yogurt containers rom Costco, as long as I'm eating it everyday.
