Wasn't quite sure where to post this one, so If its in the wrong place let me know and I will move it. A few months ago I designed and built my own paint booth for my work area and a few other people had asked if I would be interested in producing a few for them. So long story Short, I did and sold a few. After researching , It's just not worth my time to really produce these in any type of quantity for public sale with all the UL listings, Liability, EPA Regulation and other fun stuff involved it ended up pricing them out of range for most modellers, ($400-$600) So I decided to make the drawings available to anyone who wants to build their own. There is a Downdraft Version and a Side Draft version with Airtanks and regulator built in. The Brackets for holding the tanks are specifically designed for holding tanks I had here so just ignore them. I Used Air tanks from a Portable Medical Oxygen generator/scrubber so they also clean and decontaminate my Air giving me nice clean and dry air for airbrushing. Overkill but they were free. If you want to add Airtanks, My plan was to repurpose/recycle old propane/map gas bottles and have 2 of them tied in. So if anyone wants to use them to make their own (PERSONAL/PRIVATE USE ONLY) help yourself.. Ignore the order form in there. I just included that for the dimensions and fan size. If you do use the plans, By using the fans I specified you will get an airflow that replaces the Air Volume of the booth every 1.5 seconds. As per my handy dandy CFM Calculator. I spray Lacquer in mine and never smell any fumes from the paint. Added.. The deck for the downdraft was going to be 1/4 Pegboard available at any hardware/Lumber store. dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/83533157/Paint%20Booths.zip

BJ, I personally do not use stuff like this, but you are my kind of modelbuilder! When I see all the stuff you do and offer for free for others, I cannot believe this! You are a really kind and great person! Sorry for being a bit personal, but I had to say this.
Cheers,
Frank

Thanks Frank, I figure Life has been pretty good to me and I wouldn't be where I am at today if it wasn't for the help of someone along my journey, So I figure it is my turn to pass along what little knowledge I have acquired over the last 40 plus years. These drawings help no one just sitting in my computer and if someone can build it on the cheap, That leaves them more money for the real fun, and maybe save a lung or 2.

Pretty cool design and setup BJ! Thanks for sharing. I know a couple of guys who might be up for trying something like this on their own.

Wow! That thing is spectacular. If I did the drawings they would have been crayons on butcher paper. Nice wood work on the finished case, as well. The rabbeting and dados take extra effort, but they add tremendously to the final strength and appearance.

Nice! I especially like seeing how untidy your bench is I was starting to fear I was the only one surronded by obsessive compulsives rofl-roll
