Hiya fellas,
I'm making a small groundwork on the base for my Elefant and I was wondering...how does one attach the model firmly to the base afterwards so that it's safe for transport?
I can imagine that CA glue doesn't bond firlmy enough?
Cheers

Hi CSS, many thanks for the tip mate, I'll try that. PVA seems a bit too soft for the purposes I guess ^^
Hope to finish the base soon (it's quite exciting, it's my first ;D)
Cheers

Hi Wouts, when I'm painting a tank I like to screw it to a temporoay wooden base so as I can pick it up and handle it freely without touching the model. If I do a diorama I use the same hole to screw the sucker down.
It's a bit over the top, I'm sure glue would be fine, but I mentioned it is an option if you think you might want to remove the model from the base at any stage.

Have you thought of pinning it,. esp if it's a heavy kit.

Wouts- Epoxy if I can....
If not possible- get some florists wire. Drill two small holes into the base and thread the wire around an axle on the kit and down through the two holes.
Then beneath the base-you can twist the wire until it is as tight as you like. Later if you need to remove the model you can snip the wire.

thanks a lot for the most helpfull replies fellas I was actually thinkin' of the screw way of attaching, but it isn't possible for the Ele build since she was allready finished. The wire one is a new tech for me, I'll give it a shot next time Many thanks mates! Cheers
