I put together a short review and product tutorial of Uschi van der Rosten's Metal Polishing Powders and thought I would share it. www.uschivdr.com/

I need these in my life. Did I see that correctly in the video? You masked over these without sealing them? And the weren't damaged by removing the tape?

Yes Jimmy! I didn't see any of the powder get pulled off from the tape. In reference to timing with the video, the original shot I took was just shy on 10 minutes start to finish on the little gun, I only cut segments to get a better flow to the video. The stuff is pretty slick. I have been using it over some metallic finishes as you seen in the vid and the contrast is quite pleasing if you ask me!

Wow. That's amazing. I've got some AMMO gunmetal pigment that works the same way. Love the look don't know if it will stand masking though. Absolutely will be getting these now though. Thanks for sharing!

Since the new line of Vellejo metalics made a brief appearnce in the video, whats the difference between these new metalic paints and Vellejo's old traditional bottled metalic paints?

Hi John, Metal Color is an advancement to metal paints...not only acrylics but over the enamel based as well from what I see. The appearance is incredibly smoother over the traditional metallic color. The consistency is much smoother and the coverage is outstanding! I have applied them over the new gloss primer as well over bare plastic and they adhere incredibly well. After a minute of dry time, I was able to put blue painter's tape onto the surface masking panels and then ripped it off without removing any paint...with or without primer. These are not a polished effect, like with alclad but they dry quick, no smell and they stay down. 17 colors in all. I will try and put together a quick summery review of what I have and show them in another thread...maybe even a video...LOL!! But after showing these to a number of Wingy guys and others at the IPMS Nats last month all they wanted to know was where to get them.

Yeah, I'm onboard with this metal stuff! When will they be available (or are they already)?

Hey Dupes, The Uschi Metal Powders are available through the Ushci van der Rosten website. As for the Metal Color from Vallejo...distributors should have them by the end of the month, so vendors soon after!
