Normal scale has been resumed from my brief foray into 1/35th scale Next on the bench an Italeri 1/72 scale Jagdtiger, nice quick and easy build so far, usual clean up around the wheel rims plus a few chassis alignment/twist issues to overcome, but good on the whole. Plan on this one being a quick build and paint, with some detailing, as I feel a need to spray some Olive Drab as my display cabinet is looking distinctly Dark Yellow at the moment Anyhow, the build progress today...... Very, very nearly ready for paint, just noticed while taking these pics I've forgotten to add the jack block strap and the jack brackets ( it amazes me that a reputable company like Italeri don't even provide a basic jack in the kit ).... C&Cs always welcome ATB Sean

Looking very nice Sean , I know through reviews this is not the best kit out there . You have done a great job bringing it up to date , just shows what can be done

Thanks guys, its been a fun little kit so far, despite its drawbacks.
In other news.... Pin lines, decals and first matt coat are on, first round of weathering about to start.

Done! Not happy with the mud, might fiddle with it a bit with some pigments later when the final matt coat is fully dry. Will add crew in time. Dramatic low picture... I am most definitely doing something green next ATB Sean

Very nice! Got to love what you did with a less-than-stellar kit. Great addition to the shelf.

Thanks guys, as Bill said the kit wasn't the best, but not to bad, the worst part in actual fact was the decals, the numbers were ok but the crosses had been printed off kilter, the ones I used I had to rob off an old Airfix kit I'd already built.
Also, I took your advise Bill on the chipping, held right back, and also used a pencil alot more for the edges and scratches, thing is it was a HB and I think it really needs to be softer to make them stand out a bit more.
I did have to think to myself "What would Bill do??" a couple of times just to keep myself under control!!

Great finish! What would Bill have done? He would go out for a long walk in the desert in El Paso without water for hours to come up with ideas...
