Even if it won't be seen, you know it's there and if nothing else, gives you good practice! As for Trumpeter and their selection of EPM points, I have no comment on that. Don't even get me started...

Evening guys! I'm about ready to clean up the tracks and horns. As you can see in the instructions the guide horn gets glued to one link and then glued to the next link.My question is,how do I keep from gluing the links to the fixture and should I glue a certain number of links together and form them on the drive sprockets and idler wheels till dry? Any suggestions, tips or help would be much appreciated! Thanks for looking!

Leon - hi! If I understand correctly, you foresee that the tape segment is glued to the standard basis?
And how to be painted? Apart from model or with already glued to the wheels?

If possible, I would glue the guide horns to the links first and wait for the glue to fully cure. Stick some masking tape to T3 (to stop the links getting glued to it) line up your links, brush some Extra Fine on, wait 15min and (as you said) form them on the drive sprockets and idler wheels till dry. Good luck!

Dierk has responded in detail, but supplemented. ALWAYS, i glued segments on two wooden bars, a spur down. Round (to determine the exact number) and flat (bottom) segments can be made well in advance and dry. Round segments bend after 10 minutes, the tape is still soft, but not destroyed. it's a little harder to do than 2 wet segment on the adhesive tape immediately (on YouTube there are many videos) - but I'm happy with the result and the fact that we should not hurry.

PS I forgot to say - for the convenience of the final assembly, make 1 or 2 connector. The drill and wire. A typical working joint. The photo is difficult to see - did 1, below. Possible locations for the two green connectors noted. There are many options! Good luck!

Be careful you don't end up gluing the track to the jig! It's there just to help you get the links together in a straight run. I would do the 2-step process that the others pointed out and then add one more step. 1) Glue guidehorn then 2) glue links together off the jig in pairs then 3) join pairs together and place on jig to keep them straight. Rinse and repeat for the straight runs. For the curved areas around the sprocket and idler, shape those as separate parts using the jig initially and then shaping around the wheels as needed. The real trick is making sure you have enough links in the total run so that they will sag/sit properly. As glue dries, it can cause the runs to shrink just a bit, so be mindful of that when working with static indies like this. HTH!
