This is on of those random questions that popped into my head. With all of the great kits that are out there, is there a model in your stash that you know if you tried to build it, it would be the most taxing experience? Nothing will go together quite right, you will spend more time filing and sanding, puttying and trying to figure how to make it work than you would on any other project... and you would be fine with it? Was wondering ever since I saw Doog's A-4F build, I recalled building Monograms OA-4M when I was a kid. Then I thought... why not add a A-4M. Then I thought... if I do that, why not get an A-4 without the hump, so build an A-4E. So now, I have 3 kits, that I've read are total pains... yet I can't wait to build.
Then I figured, I'm already building a Mig-21... might as well make a Mig-27!
What about you? Any model you can think of that you would like to build, but know it will be a pain?

I've got a bunch of all-resin kits that if love to build...but know will be major time-sucks to get right. As far as your Skyhawk lineup, I've built the Hobbycraft kit, and it was great! Very little pain involved.

Ye Gods - is that the ESCI A4 M/N??? Those were I thought those were being remaindered in the 1980s! The ESCI 1/48th aircraft were regarded as dogs even back in those days. I think I bought some off a market stall as donors for Sci-fi builds. They're probably interred somewhere in the Deep Stash, buried at crossroads with a wooden stake through the box might be more appropriate. Turning that into a scale model will be hard-core modelling masochism...
Cheers,
M

Well, I am nothing if not ambitious. Sometimes it's easy when you build your model wheels up. Just close the bay and pray the doors fit! If they don't, then make them fit!

I remember the OA-4M and I have one in the unbuilt stash, and aside from what I recall to be horror shows trying to get the cockpit tub in on top of the wheel well, I dont remember it being that bad...

Glutton for punishment? Me? Never! To name but a few: got two T-20s and a ZIS-22 by various manufacturers but all using the AER Moldova moulds - flash like you wouldn't believe, dimensionally well off and short on detail. New hulls and rivets all round, and tracks, and....

My all time painful build.... sanding the panel lines on my USS Enterprise, 1/529(or 537) scale Refit. I believe I am still sneezing the plastic out of my nose.
