Nice rendition of a beautiful bird. Can't go wrong with a Schwalbe question though: why did you photoshop the Swastika away? It is what it is, and that's what they carried Cheers

Looks like a fine job there my friend!! Chalk another pretty bird up for the 2015 build season! Wouts, guessing he shares the pics on some other forums or pages that denounce the use of the symbol for any reason. Unfortunately some people can't see the difference between depiction and glorification....all black or all white!

Nice work on the 262! Always amazes me that they took something like this and insisted it be able to carry bombs...

The Me was able to carry bombs indeed - but thats totally an infra dig (ask Mr. Galland, for example). Never seen a Ferrari with a camping wagon, do you? Nice build Chris!

Looking good Chris! Yes, the Germans are a bit funny (but not ina ha, ha sort of way) about third reich symbols. Displaying swastikas, SS insignia, Wolfsangel, the swastika in the Afrika Korps palm, etc. - all banned by law. Even the kill marks using swastikas on, say a Spitfire: VERBOTEN! I'm actually surprised Chris' kit included the tail markings - they used to cut them out of the decal sheets and use black marker pen on the boxes to censor them. If you were to upload pictures showing any of the above to a German photo-sharing website (unless they are historical ones), they'd more than likely get removed, you're account might get closed and if your address is known you might even get a visit from the cops. In case you're wondering how they would find out where you live, here's a laugh for you: if you set up an email address from a computer with a German IP you've got to enter a postal address! Ve haff vays, indeed...

Ve haff vays, indeed... Cheers it's even worse, even the death heads of the Wehrmacht tank crew (so got nothing to do with SS or Waffen-SS) aren't allowed...bit silly...I can understand that it's a trauma and initially those were banned, but we are more than 70 years after...I pretty much order all my modelling stuff in Germany, except for figure insignia and all. Cheers

Its a never ending story... In other countries you even get minus points in a competition if the correct historical Luftwaffe tail insignias - you know which ones - arent there. And many many of those countries had to suffer a lot during WW2 and after (imho theres no one not suffering during a war - no matter which one). Other countries say "yep, thats historically correct for this subject, and youre not a narrow minded person with too much national thinking!" Our law here is something between funny and ridiculous at the same time. Wouter mentioned it: its 70 years after!!! If I understand it right its the common sense (or even law >> please correct me if Im wrong), that model kits are categorized as TOYS here. If a German cant be bureaucratic, he makes something wrong...

Put it this way: Stalin and even Mao had more deaths on their heads than Hitler had , yet the hammer and sickle emblems are still allowed to be used and even printed on t-shirts and what nought. Not trying to minimalize what was done under the swastika banner, but there seems to be a hypocrit stance toward other detesteable regimes.
Cheers

Couldn't agree more - but you're making a fundamental mistake: you're using common sense and logic Seems to me that Germany in particular loves rules, and rules don't have to make sense, they just have to be kept and enforced.

Oh but I don't think it's just only Germany which likes those I do agree, and that especially the case in the Third Reich, that they did and do like some bureaucracy and rules Cheers
