Excellent finish Bill (and quick too ) What a thoughtful X-mas gift - I'm sure your friend will be well-impressed. Thanks Dierk! 2 weeks is about what I had estimated would be needed for this and it came in right on time and under budget. Can't say that often these days!

I love the colorful markings on this one. I too admire your speed on this build...even in 1/72 I can tell you from having done my share of airplanes that tail flash decals are almost always over sized. I had the same issue with the rudder stripes on the F-106. But like you did a side at a time and trimmed. It's when they are undersized that life becomes interesting

It makes sense to have a little extra to play with...I'd rather they be slightly too big than too small as you mention. Much easier to do small touch-ups at the leading and trailing edges than trying to color-match an entire missing strip broadside! Terry, thanks as well for the comments and for following along!

Hey Bill, My flight got delayed in getting here. She's a beauty. Very nicely done.

Thanks Rick! I had the distinct honor of presenting this model to my good friend Jim Volker to honor the service of his father, Fred Volker. Jim had this picture of his dad sitting proudly in the cockpit of his F-102 so it's only fitting that the two be paired up.

A perfect pairing Bill and a great way for your friend to honor his fathers service!

That was fun following your build as usual. That was pretty quick compared to your previous build! LOL Dig the last picture you posted... it is always nice to build something in dedication to somebody.

I agree, it's always more motivation when you know that it's more than just a model for the person getting it, it's also a memory!
