So, here is the start of my build log for my first foray into 1/48 scale.... I'm building a Mobelwagen Flakpanzer IV..... This one.... I managed to spend a couple of hours on it the other night and have got this far so far...... Its gone together surprisingly easily, but then it is a Tamiya kit and I'd expect nothing less from them. More to follow as ever..... ATB Sean

Off and running Sean! One thing for you to be aware of on these Mobelwagens potentially going off your current set of pics...the sides were held together in different positions using hooks that could be positioned at one of 3 different angles (fully flat, partially raised, fully raised for transport) but they couldn't stand alone on their own like you have the one currently. They just had simple hinges on their bases. Looking forward to seeing what you do with this one! I built the 1/35 version a while back but it's the ancient Tamiya kit vs. this little beauty in 1/48.

Super fast construction mate , take it you are having fun Yes mate, sorta fun, but I don't feel as challenged as I do with the Braille scale stuff.... All a bit to 'simplified' for my liking in the bigger scales, feels like I'm just sticking stuff together randomly and then the next time I look up I've built a tank, not alot of thought process to it.... if that makes any sense ..... Maybe I should of started on a really basic kit, where I had to scratch build loads of stuff to get it up to Tamiya standard!? To prove a point..... Took me a hour and a half to finish the chassis, assemble the gun shields and build the gun, it took me longer than that to scratch build the chassis plate, 2 chairs and snorkel cover on the Cromwell/Bofors kit bash .... Anyhoo..... Not sure I've been converted to this scale yet So, build finished, paint in the near future.... ATB Sean

First paint is on..... Primer, pre-shade and pre-highlights and base colour..... Camo..... Going to leave this to dry for a couple of days now, then finish the base colours before the gloss coat. ATB Sean
