Ian that rear plate will be the best area to start with. Check out the one built by Haggis here modelerssocialclub.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=tandt&action=display&thread=232&page=This is his T-34 I always suggest to first dampen the area you will be working on with thinner, not too wet, just damp. This I do to avoid any tide marks. The enamels could leave tide marks if you let them sit too long. It also lets you work the streaks better. I do the same with acrylics. Next apply the streak(s) in small sections at a time using a small brush. Let this start to dry atleast ten minutes, but not completely dry. Then using a damp wide , larger brush go over the streaks to blend and fade them. Do one or two first to get the feel for it.

I put the T-34 in a shoe box out of the way for safe keeping and have forgotten where I put it
