Hello all, my latest offering is a 54mm white metal model of a very famous photograph taken by photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt portraying an American sailor kissing a nurse in her white uniform on Victory over Japan Day (V-J Day) in Times Square in New York City, on August 14, 1945. The model is produced by Andrea as part of their Wonderful World series. This is an OOB paint using my usual acrylic paints; Andrea, Vallejo & Scale 75. Scale 75 have the advantage that they give a completely matt finish. It was a good build at least in the dry run stage, however if needed a bit of ‘fecklin’ as they say in Yorkshire to get a close fit. The results were worth it. thank for popping in. Dennis

Love it!!! There is one real huge statue of them in Saratoga, Florida by the waterfront. They are about 75 feet tall or more! Now it will remind me of your work every time I see it when I visit my parents.

Gents Thank you all for your comments I appreciate them a great deal. I knew this was an iconic picture for our American friends but until Andy and Tojo72 replied I had no idea there were statues of this great moment in American history, that is great. Thanks Shay mate I am fine. DR I am presently 'fecklin' another couple of figures and getting some good bench time in. I will be in deep trouble on Xmas day when my dear wife finds I have converted her electric carving knife into a paint pot shaker for my acrylic paints. Into each life a little rain must fall. I hope you all have great Christmas holidays. Best wishes. Dennis

Great Dennis, well done, mate! What a good idea (for us!), but have in mind to buy some quick replace for your wife! Nicolae

Gents, I survived the carving knife controversy, with my skin and neck intact. Have a great 2016. Dennis
