Thanks for the positive feedback guys.
I can honestly say that now that I know roughly the over all length of this I'm going to have to clear nearly a whole shelf in my display cabinet to house it!

Took some better close-up shots using my camera rather than my phone.... Still some painting to be done before I put the lid on. Work is progressing the other end of the Famo as well, inclusive of a shot of the lid on the engine bay too, pity most of the detail work wont be seen clearly... Ho-humm.... Did a quick mock-up of the K18 Kanone too..... Also a couple of mock-ups of both together in towing mode, A couple of firsts for me here..... 1/ Its the first time I've ever had to set up my camera the other side of the room to be able to get all of a model in the picture, and 2/ Its the first time I've ever used a 6" rule as a method to scale off of because you can barely see my usual 1p piece its so damn far away.... ATB Sean

Brilliant sean! The engine looks great.
It looks like you're going to have to clear quite a bit of space on that shelf of yours!

Basic construction, more or less, complete..... Try out in the cabinet, they measure exactly 12.25 inches from barrel end to front mud guard..... quite a size when you bear in mind the largest tank in the case is a Maus that measures 5.5 inches..... Now just to make them lived in/on..... ATB Sean

Great job so far. I would try my hand at 72nd, if my eyes were better and my hand didn't shake so much. As it is, if I tried putting glue on the front bumper, it'd end up somewhere around the second set of seats!

Hi mate - looking very nice indeed!!
The gun looks very good - makes me wish even more that I had bought that second hand kit!!
Is that some PSC stowage I see hanging off the side of the Famo?? Did you ever end up getting the German half track set by the way?
All the best!
Andrew

Andrew I think your boy would of only wanted a Long Tom then to counter it on the battlefield if you have of bought it Yup, from the German stowage and commanders set.... really handy set for loading up vehicles with. Sadly no investment in their half track set as yet, I've got 2 or 3 Revell Hanomag variants already in the stash.... maybe when I'm in the mood for doing some kit bashes on the 250 chassis I'll use them. ATB Sean Your probably right about the Long Tom and knowing him he'd have wanted at least 10!!! I've got the German stowage set too and like it a lot. Not having a lot of spares it was a great way to get a reasonable set of extras and a lot of it's generic enough to use on Allied vehicles. Take care Andrew

So, paint is on, weathering has started on the K18 dispite having a massive cock-up with the matt varnish, that for some reason started to leave crack depressions in the varnish as it dried, I tried to correct it but it still keeps happening, as luck would have it its only just noticable now, it may have been because I used Tamiya Gloss and Artists grade Matt Acrylic, I can only guess... even so.. Base colours are also being done to the Sdkfz 9...... More to come.... Sean
