I've been worrying away at this for the last few weeks. I'll go into some more detail in the next post but the build has been pretty straight forward so far. Cheers, Brett

The kit box tipped over in my garage and a few pieces were lost. So rather than give up I thought I would indulge in a bit of scratch built battle damage. These bits are made from scrap alloy sheet, various evergreen stock sections and some fine solder. I think that will do the job. Cheers, Brett

Nice save Brett! Just goes to show that losing parts can be a good thing!

Thanks Dierk. There is another part missing which will be much harder to do without.

Every time I see those Robots I think to myself I MUST do something like that in the future. Would love to build a tactical pod GLAUK or the DESTROID MONSTER. Or something from Kalamity. Means, when I am the lucky one...

Means, when I am the lucky one... Frank You are in luck Frank! The monster is available in 1/200, 1/160, 1/144, 1/100(very rare), and 1/72. She is a huge kit in 1/72 - and I really need to get back to finishing mine. Glaug is available in 1/100, 1/72 and 1/48 snd I think just about everything is available in 1/285 courtedy of the Robotech Tactics game.

Sounds cool! I will definitly do sometime such a beast (after reading the books of Kalamity and the new Mig painting guide on robots I will do it). There are so much possibilities in here, heck, even with a base. Or doing a rusted wreck...

A couple of quick photos of where this is up to: I still have to adjust the groundwork to better accommodate the feet, and finish the build itself (cockpit, pilot and shoulder pods). The missile hatches are supposed to open and the bank of misiles slide forward. But I couldn't get the gimick to work so I will leave the hatches closed. Let me know what you think Brett

Thanks Andy. Slowly getting there - just a lot of faffing around right now. Hopefully it will be finished by next week.

I like to "faff around" a lot myself. (what's faffing?) :-) Australian military jargon. It means that pointless mucking around that isn't getting the job done. You know, the old "hurry up and wait" routine :-) Brett

Hey Brett, looks really good till now! Base? Maybe any wreckage on it? GO ON on this one here! Frank I may put an old dead tree on the base along with some scrubby grass. It is supposed to reflect the wasted earth after the Zentran attack in SDF: Macross left the place a dust bowl. Brett
