Hi Guy! Thanks for taking the time to share the pics! It's almost worth a hop across the channel to have a look in person! What is that really odd gun on the tall frame like mount, with the thin wheels in the blotchy green, brown and yellow camo? Thanks again! Andrew

I found a bit of info on this particular gun, it's a Russian gun, manufactured between 1903 and 1907, and it was used as an AA gun (believe it or not !), it was a 76,2mm cal.
In the beginning all the WWI armies used light fast shooting field artillery guns as AA guns mounted on field manufactured frames. Isn't that special ?
My initial thought on this 'framed gun' was that they were put in trenches with nothing but the barrel exposed. Wrong thinking of me.
At your service friends ! AG.

Shay, it's located in Brasschaat North Antwerp, if you like to visit it, I'd be glad to join you it but it's better to wait until Mai, then they will add more restored vehicles to their collection. When you come to see it a third sunday of the month there's also an oldtimerclub present ! And...there's also an airfield !

Guy Thanks for the info on the gun and especially for taking the time to PM me the answer to me as well!! In the dark and deep recesses of my mind I have a vague memory of reading about arty guns being used in an AA role before but don't ask me where!! All I need to do is convince my wife that our next summer holiday needs to somewhere in the Antwerp area!! Thanks again! Andrew

Great pics, felt a little sorry for the stuff that is slowly rotting in the open... I know the feeling Tobi ! Especially the M47 Patton deserves a place inside.

Thought already that it was Brasschaat...about a stones throw from my elderly house...when I was younger we could hear the artillery (although they didn't fire live or fake rounds because the terrain is too small, they used a special kind of dummy barrel on top of the real deal. So you made an appointment with the commander to visit it? Never been there myself, seems more than worth it ^^
Cheers
