Interesting choice given the recent offerings in bigger scales. How does it look so far?
Revell has become noticeably better since the kits of our childhoods. But they still produce some of the same old crap we build back in our childhoods.

This is a new tool John and the prelim inspection of the parts is looking very good. Some of the detail is a little heavy handed but overall nice and crisp. The landing gear struts and cabane struts being integrally molded with the front of the fuselage will make for very strong legs and a bug plus for top wing alignment. Nice interior detailing.

I almost bought this one yesterday just because, but I'm holding out for someone to do one in 1/32. Though it does look a decent kit. I look forward to seeing what you do with it.

Jim, is there a 1/32 in the works that you know of?
Get comfy Bill.
Anthony, I've seen Don's and it is a real beauty

YO Andy. Sorry I missed your post. If you happen to get to that museum and snap some pics I think I'd like you more than I already do. Nah, not possible. Finally, some real progress. Motor, prop & seats. Found a set of US seat belts in the back of draw. OK, didn't really "find" then since I had a vague recollection I had picked them up ages ago. Molded in belts were scraped away and the PE belts added. The beginnings of the interior. Prop hub was drilled out and a piece of 1mm aluminum tubing was polished and a holes drilled through to replace the plastic nub that was there.

Great progress. Glad to see this one back on the go.
And no, I don't know of any 1/32 in the works. I'm just cautiously optimistic. Who knows what will happen. Lots of things being kitted I thought I'd never see, so it's possible.

This definitely falls into the "not my bag" category...but I still want to see what you can do with it. Looks to be on par with the newer 1/32 Revell stuff quality wise, no?

Been a while between updates... any time on the forum really... due to being busy and fighting some sort of illness that I am really hoping does not develop into diverticulitis again. That will be strike 3 and my gastro doc says it's the knife then. Thanks for the comments guys. Dupes I am not familiar with any of the newer Revell kits so can't relay say. But this one is sweet. But some progress has been made. Mock up of the components at the moment. I am going to do the rigging old school so to make sure they double cables stay parallel I glued 2 straight pint to a piece of 0.5 mm tubing to mark for the holes to drill. If you saw my thread about the UV activated glue, this is a great use for it. After making the tiniest freakin' eyelets ever I dipped the end into some of the glue and set them in place. The glue stays liquid, and it thick enough to stay there, until you hit it with the UV light so got loads of time to get them just right. Hit 'em with the light and they are as solid as the day is long.

What will you choose for the rigging wire?

John I am going to use gray UNI thread, not a monofilament, that I get from the fly tying dept of the sporting goods store by me. I've used it a few times. Albatros Roland
