First, Id like to say a big THANK YOU to all participants of the GB and the MSC admins/moderators for making it possible. Im looking forward to your projects, ideas while in progress and of course the results.
My project will be a small one: the Revell SnowSpeeder. Lets see how it will turn out.
See you around.

A view in the box. Its a relatively simple kit, and sometimes you may wonder what some details mean - for example that circles on the dashboard. The figures are out of proportion, and the decals have a total wrong color. I dont care, because its SciFi, and theres no such things as wrong colors etc (and I wanted to paint the colored areas by myself - so thats okay).
Had it been a FM kit before? Sorry, I really dont know.
The positive thing is: FM or not, the details are good in most cases and once completed, it looks like it should.
And he's off! I was toying with the idea of getting the very same kit, but saw it was your entry and as variety is the spice of life I ended up spending twice as much for a kit that's not as good IMHO.
i.gifer.com/6gG.gif You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.

But heck, what scale! Did they do the kit and decided AFTER IT what scale might be correct?? Just wondering, how much work will be needed to prep it up! Remember the Finemolds Snowspeeders in 1.48, just curious how you will work on the Revell kit!
Sorry for the delay - there were a few other projects on the to-do-list (as always! ). The more Im looking forward to do the Sppeder. I got a small woden base from an art shop around (Boesner), and some small lava stones.
They should give a little distraction on the snow base.
Gettin natron was quite an adventure. Tried at three small supermarkets around and two pharmacies - nothing! I prefer natron because its finer than baking soda. Baking powder does it as well. Important thing is that you definetely use a sieve for it, it will look far more natural. Flour for snow isnt a good idea btw,, it will turn yellowish after a while for sure.
That said, it was time to start this thing. Small lava stones and shredded styrofoam pieces do the job as well as the hairspray for the snow.
Not much time to model in the last days. I face the same problem with the figures like I had with the X-Wing. The figures from the kit are not what I expect to be a good figure, and Im thinking about to replace them with CMK figures or similar - lets see. Here, a strange problem occurs - the scale of the kit is again 1/52. The Preiser/CMK figures beneath the original ones are 1/72 scale.
The cockpit is on its way too - the instrument panels for instance are really good.

More work on the cockpit. I added some pedals for the front seat (=Aber 1/24 rallye pedals) and glued the main body of the speeder. Belts are still missing. You can see clearly the difference between this cockpit and the model version. Anyways - its SciFi, so I wont bother.
