Thanks for the comments guys. Between the paint and all the extra work I did bringing the kit up to speed, imagine my surprise when I looked at the judging sheets and saw I pulled a "1", two "0.5"s, and a "0" in the "Degree of Difficulty" section. John and Brian, since it seems you missed the thread when it was posted a couple months ago, you can check it out here: modelerssocialclub.proboards.com/thread/10519/char-b1-tamiya-final-pics . I might have gasped, too, but I've had to do things like that quite a bit, Brian. I've got a "fine" needle set up in my Badger 150 and the tip will bend if you look at it wrong! The material it's made out of has got to be the softest metal known to man. I've also got an Iwata with the same sized needle and have never had a problem with it. Thanks for the photo link..... even if you didn't get one shot of any of my entries.

Congrats on the medals!!! Hope to see you in Danbury next year... I am hoping to attend that one! Thanks Andy. Sadly, the only way I'll be able to attend that one will be if I manage to win the lottery.

Okay....It's that time again....time for me to be a "stick in the mud".
When I saw this thread.... I was hoping on hope that someone had taken a slew of pictures for those of us who could not attend. You know see whats' what. Instead the thread "seems" to me, as a "look how cool I am" thread. Now to be fair even when I competed I always hated the "look at my trophies" crowd. For me, and me alone I think it's the height of arrogance. That's just me.
A million years ago when I played football with Al Bundy (LOL) my coach had little pearls on being a good sport. Things like: "when you score hand the F-ing ball to a retard or the ref". Or my favorite which seems to be applicable, " you learn more from a loss that a victory victories are just more fun". Politically correct he wasn't. He did however know that you need to be magnanimous in defeat as in victory.
If I have offended the fine work that went into the entries, this was not or is not my objective.

No offense to me, that's for sure. Personally, the awards only mean that I'll have a little better write up in the Ebay listing when I post the models on there later this week and I'll have a little extra to stick in the box when one of them sells. I'm hoping some of the others who were there, like Brian and John, start chiming in and we can get more picture links and some general conversation about the show going. I really don't want me to be the only one talking here.

By that rationale, isn't every WIP thread that we post (or finished models thread, for that matter) a "look how cool I am" thread?

I am finally seeing straight after the long drive! WOW...glad I don't have to do that everyday! Congrats Bob! Well deserved my friend! There were some excellent models on display this year...congrats to all that entered!!! Best part was getting to see all the friends we all talk to online everyday in person....new and old! Okay....It's that time again....time for me to be a "stick in the mud".

PZJagerII No worries on offending anyone my friend! We get were you are coming from! There were numerous member of MSC present at the show. I am sure we can filter in pictures as we go. In a lot of cases, there are so many, like with Brian, it is probably best to post the links to where they are. We have always encouraged MSC family members to post their wins...not for the self gloating factor about the win as much as sharing their experience from the show. Check back in for links and hopefully more pictures of the entered models and show!

Noce going Bob, sorry didnt get to meet you there. I learned a ton of stuff to prepare for the next AMPS show. Spent a lot of time with Rob and Todd, learned a bunch from them as well and we had a blast. My brother wound up taking Gold, Silver and a Bronze. $700 on assorted resin and kits.......and I didn't get killed when I got home....now that was a bonus . Gearing up of the IPMS Nats............WooHoo. Bob

Well, it certainly was an interesting seminar...LOL!! Thought it was going to be a little longer, but that's how the cookie crumbles! The needles trick made some think I am sure...now if I can get a good braising technique to fix the tips I will be very happy! Good times! Great to see you at the show with the family! Hope we can all get together again soon! Just a bit closer to home!!

Gearing up of the IPMS Nats............WooHoo. Bob Sorry to have missed you, too, Bob. Got plans on going to the Raleigh IPMS show in May? If so, maybe we can talk a bit there. Congrats to your brother and condolences to your wallet. ----------------------------- T, glad to see you guys made it home all right. Work the kinks out soon. You've got about 4 months before you do it again. I, too, am trying to come up with some more links to pictures, but have yet to find anything. I know AMPS took a picture of every model judged that'll eventually end up on the main web site, but there were plenty of other cameras running around. Like I mentioned I'll be happy to copy any links posted to the first post of the thread to make them easy to find. Personally, I'd like to see everyone post pics of their entries here. ----------------------------- PJ - I can see where you could have perceived a "me thread" going on when you checked in before. It was just the illusion created by my continuous posts. While your post didn't actually portray what was going on, I can totally agree with the sentiments of what you said.

Okay...not sure how this will work. It may bog things down in the thread for some, but a good friend, Dan Rothenberger, Jr. was kind enough to allow me to share an album of pics he took at the show. There are 271 in total. I will try and break them down into seperate posts to eliminate lag in loading....if that is possible!

Not me, PJ. Thank Dan for taking them and T for the posting. Now, unless I misunderstood the announcement at the show, there are still more out there. I believe they said there was a total of around 375 models there.
