Good day gents This has been in my stash for a while, and whilst things are quiet it seemed a good way to fire the building mojo after a lull with soldering. This is what I would like to recreate Following along with this sort of idea, as postered in the 30's Older kit and older vehicles before Blitzkrieg was fully formulated The build to date, with some undercoating on the way For being ""off it"" I seem to have been busier than I thought! I really want to get some figures on the bench again, and my scribbing at work will get me there, its just that the soldering bug is still eating at me, Perhaps I can get it sorted soon. Thanks for popping by, More soon? Steve H

Humble apologies for the late reply Thanks Dierk, Leon, Andy & PJ And the update, Starting on the 2nd part of the scenario the 232 6-rad After the massively over engineered and astronomic parts count on the Sd. Kfz. 7 from Trumpeter, I thought I would step down a gear and do something simple, Oh, how wrong was I! There are only 2 of the 232 6-rad on the market the other is Italeri, I have the HiPM, with another Eduard PE set! I found a review and build blog too, and for good measure a build blog of the Italeri, from an old favourite, Vinnie Brannigan www.internetmodeler.com/2001/september/armor/armor_rad.htmwww.internetmodeler.com/2001/august/first-looks/hipm_sdkfz232.htmwww.militarymodelling.com/news/article/italeri-sdkfz232-6-rad/3006www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/italeri/it6433.htmThere are plenty of photos of the 6-rad and there seems to be lots of variety in how it looks! Right into the ""simple"" build with nothing fitting, and I mean no 2 parts fitted together without scrapping, filing and filling afterwards! This was going to be a change of pace, and possibly a labour of love, but it is just a labour and now a serious challenge to my stamina! The build to date So far simple engineering, as it is an 8 mm armoured coffin on a double axled lorry chassis I made my next error by thinking the turret could be a nice simple distraction, again nothing fit and I had to add some scratch along with the Eduard PE hinges, hatches and guttering, along with the very nice RB barrels for the 2cm cannon and MG This one is up to date, Thanks for popping by Steve H

Sounds like the kit is fighting you every inch of the way - but you're doing a sterling job of beating it into submission!

You're a brave man indeed for tackling this HiPM kit! Looks like you've got the upper hand though, stick with it!

Its been awhile but a bit more Thanks Dierk, its been a hard fought battle but I think I am getting the upper hand! Thanks john, its a real challenge to build but its getting there, the Eduard set is made for the Italeri kit, not the Hipm, so it doesn't quite fit! As for Vinnie, not heard anything at all? Thank you Sir Thanks Bill, the challenge was well worth the effort The PE, before And ended like this And progress to date, with the starting cast The cast still to be finished, perhaps all 7 or maybe just 5? The Panzer officer on the right is already starring in a Pz I A scenario Not sure yet! The turret is primed with Mr Surfacer, the rest with Halford's car body primer Thanks for popping by Steve H

Current progress and thanks for all your comments chaps. Its been awhile but its back on the bench with all my other projects too! A base coat of Japanese uniform, it is actually more horrid in real life than the photos show!! Modulation of the base next, then hard edged 3 camo on the Adler and a softer AB camo on the 232 The Reichwehr 3 colour camo is a nice variation before the grey brown of the more popularly known '39 onward from Poland's Blitzkrieg, up to Barbarossa Thanks for popping by Steve H

Looking real good! I have been to more than 20 museums during my Europe trip recently and I haven't seen this variant. It tells me how rare it is...

Thanks Chaps 20 museums, you lucky lad, no Adler's any where! Its been longer than I thought, I have AB'd the Adler but the light has taken the green away? I will need to tighten up the overspray and I will hand paint the camo on the 232 with a more ""out of the factory"" look against a more weathered Adler. It needs to look fresher to complement all the PE I managed to attach Here she is And the B/W comparisons More soon? Steve H
