This is my first Aoshima model. Instructions seem daunting at first but after reading them 5 or 6 times you figure them out. I've come further than the rotors and brakes but just haven't photographed them. Living in America we only have 1 distributor of Zero Paints so I won't get my paint for the body for 2 or 3 weeks.

Just like that....off and running again! Nice choice!! Best of luck on the paints! In a pinch, I have heard folks having good success with thinned nail polish! At least they are easy to get and tons of colors....of course you might have to fight over them depending on how many women are in the house!!!

While working on the exhaust and engine I notice that part of the drive train was molded into the Frame. More masking. Ugh

Nice choice of kit, Btw!!! well todd is right, you can used nail polish thin with lacquer thinner (automotive)for best results, and layered painting till you get the desired color that you want, you can also try Rust-oluem I think or any automotive spray cans... always prime the shell for protection Cheers!!!

Should be cool. Too bad you dont live close to me, I have the perfect color for it, I have some pearlescent orange I mixed while trying to hit hemi orange, and I think it is close to this Lambo: Here is my color and the Lambo I will use it on:

No, I haven't. It's close enough. Not looking for a perfect match.

Great looking car!!! As far as engine / transmission detail goes....apply a light wash to bring out the detail.

Nice build. Aoshima kits are pretty good, I recently built their Aventador kit and it went together well. The only thing I didn't like was some of the clear parts and the design of the opening doors and rear bonnet. I used Scale Finish's yellow Orion Tri-coat pearl which is a factory Lambo color. Their paints are great and they have many factory colors. I also like to use auto touchup paint and cut it with MEK or Auto Lacquer thinner. Nice and thin and great coverage. Many are single stage Urethanes. My clear coat of choice is UPOL clear coat, a synthetic lacquer (almost exactly like Tamiya TS13 clear but much cheaper). Just some options for you, but I look forward to more of your progress.
