Hi, Firstly apologies that there haven't been any progress shots until now. We are having work done on our house and are having to stay with relatives (don't ask!!) so taking pictures hasn't been easy. Anyway.....I am continuing with my recent love affair with all things 1/48 with this one. All base coats, camouflage, filters and basic weathering are completed. Going to be moving onto more precise detailing weathering etc. over the next few days. I have used AK and Ammo (Mig) paints throughout with AK, Mig and Humbrol weathering products. I will be using oils and some Vallejo acrylics to continue the detailing. Will post more as I progress. Comments etc. as ever always welcome Thanks

I was always a 1/35 or nothing man. Then I was given a 1/48 as a gift and it has gone on from there.

I'm all too familiar with the trauma of having work done on your house...went through it a couple or three years ago when ours got refurbed inside and out - we were told the scaffolding would be up for 3-4 weeks...NINE months later it came down! KT looks the business! Although you may want to reconsider the colour of the fire-extinguisher?

Looks good. I like the colors chosen on the paint. I hope the weathering doesn't darken it up too much.
Two small details you might want to think about.... First (and this could still be easily added), is a thin piece of wire leading from the headlight to the little round knob next to the drivers periscope for the light wiring. The other thing is the addition of periscopes for the hull positions. You don't seem to notice when they're missing from the turret, but they stand out on the hull. Unfortunately, with it buttoned up these may be impossible to add now.

I'm really struggling to find any aftermarket 1/48 periscopes. The Tamiya kits don't ship with them which is really annoying. I completely agree the kit needs them but I have been frustrated to date trying to find some.

At that scale a piece of flat plastic cut in the general shape would suffice. Here's a 1/48 Sturmtiger I'm currently working on. After it's painted I'll go back with a small brush and add the lens. If you're really patient and have the tools you could cut the lens into it. Once again, at this scale I don't know if it's needed though. Either way, I think it will still look better than not having anything there at all.

Nothing to add to what the others have said other than it's looking like a KT should!

Hi, Some further work today by adding in some more dust and starting the chipping process. Also added some further texture and detail to the exhausts. I still need to blend the chips in and add in the headlight cable as suggested by afvfan.

Your stunning work would show up better, if you were to put a light cloth or towel under your work.
