Purely because its also pertinent for this group I'll add my build log here for my rendition of "Cuckoo" as well as in Andrew and my duel build. What I'm starting with, 19 piece parts count wargames based model..... My attempt to make the track/wheel assembly more realistic to look at, kit part on left, my modifications on right..... ATB Sean

Very nice start. Not sure how you guys work in such a small scale............... must be young, cause the older I get the bigger the scale I work in..........LOL

Nice start Sadly no longer young, only at heart, being half way through the back half of my 40s!! I'm blessed with short sight, which makes for an interesting day out when I go shooting.... Progress report..... Added the missing sections to the rear hull, added extra depth to the track grousers, added the differing box strengthener ribs, filled in hull gaps.... Started adding missing hull sections to drive sprocket and cut off the mud guards as I'm going to remake them from foil.... ATB Sean

Sean PJ I'm in an even worse position than Sean - although is sounds like he might be a year or to older than me, I'm long sighted and have been wearing glasses for over 30 years, initially for prolonged reading.... I'm now at the stage where I have wear them all the time and even have vari-focal lenses..... So this is how I do it..... It took me a while to get used the change in persective but it's surprisingly strong - maybe up to 4 or 5 times magnification if the distances are optimal!!! The arms almost never get used for holding things but are great for stabilising the it, so I can have it leaning over at quite an angle - as in the picture. Give it a try and you might surprise yourself!! Andrew

One of my fav big cats... great choice! Can't do anything without my magnifiers too... especially when I paint my figures.

Some update pictures ..... Zimmerit was done using a soldering iron and specially made tip. Black and silver parts are foil from a wine bottle. Commander figure is a 1/76 scale resin figure from Milicast. Next on the list to do is the tool frames on the hull sides ATB Sean

Its actually quite hard to use on the smaller parts like the vision port covers because the black is actually a plastic coating and its elasticity is strong enough to try and force the bent foil strip back straight again, the bow gunners vision port was a nightmare, I had 4 different attempts at it before I finally gave in to what is there now, each time the foil would lift up 'flatish' before the adhesive cured.... And I use an activator spray that speeds up the set time of super glue.... Its partly the reason I've held off of doing the one on the turret, I'll probably use beer can tin for that, I had much more success using that on my Airfix Tiger I.
