Nice, nice, NICE!!! Love this plane, and your work!  Might be an urban myth, but I heard a story about the Brits getting a German pilot to fly one back to the UK just after the war, escorted by a couple of Spitties - with stern warnings that they were going to shoot him down if he tried any funny business. Apparently he just buggered off into the distance and then waited at the English airfield for his escort to arrive. Hope it's true, and if it isn't it should be. |

Thanks gentlemen. So I picked the US captured version in the kit. Choice was simple really since I get all fuzzy on the inside for visual interest. This one is NMF on the underside with RLM 65 control surfaces. 81/82 splinter upper surface with some 02 mixed in and the Olive Drab oversprayed German markings and stars and bars....umm....HRRRNNNGGGG So, anyway. Started with the Alclad on the bottom. Aluminum here (I've since added some Duraluminum variance). Then on to black basing and building up the 65. I have since, however, blended it a bit more from these pics.   Then, after some masking, I moved on to the RLM 82. I'm using Mr. Hobby Color here. As usual, a black base. Mottle is built up where appropriate. Next I'll go in with a lighter color from MOAR variation before moving to the blending.  |
