Definitely an adventure in 'find the real part in the flash' type of endeavor Bruce! Looks like you're beating it into submission.

Love the BT tanks! Hope you've got plenty of references, as EE is not renowned for their accuracy - still got a few of their 'pearls' in my stash, but have failed to work up the courage to tackle them.

Sometimes less known
EE isn't as famous as Dragon and Tamiya or Trumpeter, but sometimes these lesser known brands have unique types in their range, like this one. With a bit more patience and a trained pair of eyes you can make this one a stunning piece, some good reference pics do the trick to complete the build. Have fun sir.

Dogfish A nice start and a nicely different kit. Love the BT tanks! Hope you've got plenty of references, as EE is not renowned for their accuracy - still got a few of their 'pearls' in my stash, but have failed to work up the courage to tackle them. Dierk As soon as I saw this I thought of you!

Thanks. Being this is a 1934 Tank, haven't found many good reference shots yet. Mostly the T-34s. So if anyone comes across any, I'd appreciate a link at least, if not a photo. Even though there is allot of flash, let me say, that the detail is very good on this kit and it has allot of character. I would like to put more detail into it. It would also make a good burn out model or damaged.

Thanks Leon. Luckily have several packs of Evergreen and Plasistruct around. Speaking of witch... because of the reference, found the kit doesn't have the bolt nuts on the KT-28 mount. So, dug out the Plastistruct 90871 Hex Rods and made a few nuts. They aren't perfect, but I think it will add a little more interest to it.

Nice work Bruce! Glad the references have come in useful. If you fancy spending some money I can recommend the Masterclub range of resin fasteners - they come in very handy when dealing with kits of the EE ilk.

I don't know how far you want to take this, but pre-war soviet armour was painted in 3B AU from 1935. 4BO, the colour that we all know as 'Russian Green' was introduced in 1941 because of a problem with 3B AU: with a special optical filter it stood out from the surrounding vegetation because the pigments used reflected light differently from chlorophyll. Yes, I know, I'm an anorak

All very useful info Dierk. Thanks so much for the cut sheets. I'll probably just go with the 41 colors, seeing as how I already have the AK Russian color pack. But the after market kits might be useful,

Tryin to. Installed the other side of bolts. Still need to file them down to size. Started on the 76 mm gun. Filled in some sink marks on the carage. It will need some work.

"It will need some work" - should be printed on the boxes of EE kits

Thanks Leon. Far from perfect, but a good illusion. Just trimmed them down this morning and none broke off...... again. If anyone knows an easier way, please .... PLEASE tell me.

The easier way is called Masterclub - if you click on 'see other items' you'll see the whole range. Very expensive in the US, but at least the postage is free.

Thanks Andy. Don't know if I'll order the tracks from Fruil. They want $18 just for shipping. (BS!) Think I'll shop around.

Friuls are worth every penny but that's expensive !
Nice too see you've been spraying the first paint.

Yes, Friuls are nice, but not at 18 bucks postage! If you don't mind ordering from China, search Ebay for 'Spade Ace 1/35 SAT-35070 Metal Track Russian BT-7' - I think it'll work out cheaper, and for tracks with less complex links, like the BT ones, they are just as good.
