No choice Leon! Show is on Sunday...must be finished by Friday night. And since the MoM wraps up tomorrow, I figured I'd better get in there as well. Thanks Bruce!

Glad to see you didn't have any issues with the Vallejo. They look great!

Glad to see you didn't have any issues with the Vallejo. They look great! I DID attempt to put a decal on a non-futured part (one of the pylons) - it didn't work so well. Micro Sol pulled the paint up immediately! Sealer layer required for sure.

Going to be down to the wire on this one...accidentally fell asleep in the kid's bed putting him to sleep last night. One entire evening of bench time lost. Ouch! Washes down, starting final assembly.

Deadline's coming! Sure is! I'll make the show deadline for sure (definitely done by Friday evening when I have to pack everything up) but am going to miss the MoM by an hour or two (waiting for clear coats to dry). Looks like it'll be an early entry for April's edition. Update tonight, maybe? If not, finished pics tomorrow!

The name change between the airplanes was the only way I knew these were more than a single model.
It's a bit of a personal question, but why bother at all with the 1/72 builds? Your work in bigger scales is excellent and there's a lot more detail there to work with.
Why not "Go big! Stay big!"?

First off, thanks! I'll take "excellent" any day of the week! Partially it's to avoid burnout on any one subject/scale (although, to be honest, that's not much of a worry these days). I do from two to five contests a year...and I've become a bit of a category junkie as a result. It's hard for me to look at entries and not think "I could do that"! It helps that 72nd stuff takes a lot less space and can be built faster as well. Also opens up a lot of subjects that aren't kitted in other scales, too (especially when you get into sci-fi). Long answer short? Hahahaha.

Well...the wife was right about the last minute slam-builds thing (again). Took 1st with each of these in their respective categories - both were between 15 and 20 entries. I'll take it!

I understand there were two builds. I don't understand what 15 and 20 they were between. Do you mean there were that many other builds in the category that each competed in?
I guess I was not clear in my initial post. I was dazed and confused from having to clear snow on APRIL 4TH!!!

Great job Dupes. Your jugs turned out really nice. Camera magic made it tough to tell them apart. Congrats on your winners.
