The M-60 was one hell of a machine gun! Had occasion to fire it at Da Nang in '68. The guy in the photo looks allot like a High School buddy of mine, who was killed there.

This is a lovely kit and I look forward to seeing your work progress on this beauty Taras. However could I point out that the M60 gunner in your photograph is an Australian soldier, the reason I say this is the shirt he is wearing is in my opinion Australian issue, the ammo pouch the gunner is resting his left hand is of the type issued for the carrying of the L1A1 SLR and the guy at the rear left of the photo is indeed holding an SLR. The Aussies in Vietnam did use a lot of American gear hence the M16's in the photograph, the waterbottles, and the rucksack frame. Dogfish, as an old soldier myself I am glad you remembered your mate. I can remember a couple of friends faces who were KIA as clear as day, so as the saying goes "we will rembember them." Thank you for publish this Taras.
