I'll be watching! Can't beat a Bismark - unless you fly a Fairey Swordfish

The Swordfish didn't beat the Bismarck, it just crippled it...it was Captain Lindemann who gave the order to scuttle the ship Glad to see the big Bis appear Martin, one of my all time favourites. Cheers

Technically you're right, of course, Wouter - but with the rudder out of action she was a sitting duck...you (or rather: I ) could say, bar the sinking she was beaten at this point

True that Just wanted to make that clear because all too often it has been claimed and said that the British sunk her . Guess that's partially because the victors write the history. One thing the Germans gotta give to their Japanese counterparts: at least they incorporated auxiliary rudders Cheers

Dierk, Wouter, Todd many thanks for support! I regret that more photoetched won't turn out to use. I will try to make something decent with these sets.

This is totally off the GB, however it's my only Bismark relate, besides the fact that she looked dam cool.......
Many years ago, the game Trivial Pursuit offered 50.00usd and a Championship edition of the game IF you found a mistake with any question, and then correctly answered said mistake. The question was: Name the German Navy's largest battleship of the Second World War............. Naturally most would answer the Bismark.... RIGHT??
The correct answer is the Tirpiz. She was actually 2 meters longer.....Don't ask me why or how. I never really found a convincing answer....Maybe a design quirk.... Anyway the answer now reads The Bismark Class.....
Just another useless fact from someone NOBODY wants to play trivia games with........
Will be stopping back by

How about this for an idea: tell your customer that the finished model will also be an advert for your work, and that if he wants a truly special model, and not just one that any half-decent modeller could put together, he should spend a little extra. Surely he wants something unique, otherwise he wouldn't spend money on getting you to build it. Failing that, spend your own money on the additional PE

Now, we need to do something about your avatar... it is not as pretty as ours. Maybe use a pic of Bismarck captain for your avatar. LOL You are a family now and we would love to see more of your posts.

He more than the cost of model of the ship in several five times. It isn't reasonable. Many thanks! Thanks Bill! I will try Thank you very much Andy! I will try to improve soon. Unfortunately, the management of the company began to demand considerably bigger time. But, it is temporary.

Not being a ship builder I didn't realise the PE set would be that expensive - you're right: it's not reasonable. Andy's right - now that you're part of the family you need to do something about your avatar

Nice progress Martin! I'm not familiar with the manufacturer - what is your opinion of the kit? Dierk, It is model repack from Academy. Very simple and old kit. To finish much to lead to the acceptable look. I feel as Terminator with this kit.
