Love the mon Calamari!! Hell, these figures are great! And where the heck do you get the ideas? What is a Quadjumper??? Looks like something that can be detailed to hell and back and if it comes out the "Everett way", it will be a master piece.

Thanks, everybody for posting in with comments. the figures have been mostly painted and I sort of started the first part of the Quadjumper by accident. I was goofing around with techniques for cutting the engine inlets from clay. This idea failed. But it produced a defective casting which was cut down even further to create a part suitable for a proper resin cast. I don't own a lathe and was thus goofing around with soft materials on the drill press. (PVC pipe and clay)
A reasonable shape for an engine inlet. This was used as a master for creating a rubber mold. The mold failed badly. But it was good enough to produce a rough "tube" of solid resin.
The defective resin casting was further turned to produce THIS!!
The whole rig is set up on the parts for a hole cutting saw.
A reasonable copy of what I need.
Defective casting made into usable master. I'll now place this into rubber and produce 4 engine inlets from it.

That's pretty awesome lathe work for not having a lathe...

GREAT!! And I hope, you will do the interior of the ship, too! Looks fantastic! Frank Yes. A full, lighted interior is planned. I like this design because the big front windows allow the viewer to look straight through the model.

What is painted in Vegas, Stays.......Comes home to be placed in a diorama. Long layover in Las Vegas tonight. Me and "the boys" partied like rock stars...rock starts who enjoy oil paints, old reruns on Netflix and a nice natural light through the window. That's us. Going nuts on a Saturday in Vegas! Nobody knows how to tear up a hotel room with oil over an acrylic base like this bunch here!
I need to let the oils dry a day or two before going back and adding a bit of color to the faces. I much prefer oil for use on skin tones. But it does take a long time to dry. To go along with the big Quadjumper I'm also going to need a smaller "speeder" type of ship. Essentially I will need a Star Wars equivalent of a pickup truck. This was done over a few hours and a box of loose styrene scraps. It still needs windows, doors and such. This isn't based on anything i remember from the films. But so long as it looks about right, hey, It's Star Wars. Who cares what it looks like so long as there's laser fire and explosions. About 1/3 done at this point.
