Evening all, Painting this figure will be VERY different from the Prinz Heinrich bust: more colors, more light effects, more washings, and most probably some chipping too. The box shows a blue/green/white scheme, which is pretty cool, but not what I really want somehow. Maybe I go for a bright blue or something. First of all comes the cleaning, sanding and all that stuff of course.

Is that white metal with a resin torso? Or just different colors of resin?

Exactly Dupes - a resin body, and the other parts are made from white metal.

Is there a reason that they do it that way? Odd that they'd mix materials if they didn't have to.

I wondered about it too. The copyshop around made a base sign for me. I googled for a Martian surface, added letters and they printed and laminated it (a cheap, but very conclusive way to create base badges btw). I have chosen a light blueish/violet color as a base tone, which was toned down with a darker color (the same, with more red), then the 2nd color got some black for the shadows. Especially the exhausts on his back needed some darker color. With all that blue color and the huge body he looks a bit like MegaMan.

Cool base! But blue armor on a red martian surface? No "appropriate camo"?

Yep, hes got blue armor. A bit tricky to paint, but perfect to train leveling techniques, chipping etc with a wet pallet. More details incoming, including the face. The base got some darker shades (= highly thinned black) on its edges too for more contrast. PS: I found out why the body is made from resine and not white metal. Because its more complex than his arms and legs (especially the belly area with its very sharp details). For better results they decided to go for resine.

Pretty sharp so far Lucas, the resin casting seems to be top-notch.
