Soviet truck MAZ-205 - FINISHED -

Hi guys!

Soviet truck MAZ-205, scale 1/43.

The next work for the customer. This time to do a monument to the MAZ-205 truck. This car was issued in the USSR in 1947-1965. They worked at all buildings of the country.
The monument to this car is established in my city. Author of photos Oleg Tolchin.


Unfortunately, his state not really good. The customer wants to receive the copy of this monument.


Model kit MAZ-205 in scale 1/43 is produced by SSM.
I have collected the main parts of model.


I need to add missing parts and to give surfaces necessary structure.

We will start...
Stage 1. Body.
Step 1. I need to make dents and a rough surface. Also to add some elements from PE. To putty excess openings.
By means of diamond pine forest and a powerful drill I have made roughnesses and a rough surface. I was guided by photos.

In stocks of PE there were necessary strips. They are used on doors.


I have made a tank of a plastic tube, a wire and plasticine.


Time to start a primer has come. So,

Stage 2. Paint.

Step 1. I have washed up all details in alcohol. I have pasted masks on glasses and have put Tamya Surface Primer White.





I have specially covered details with layers of primer of different thickness. It will help further when painting. Yes... I won't polish primer by this truck.

Step 2. Two units are painted by Tamiya XF-9 Hull Red. The cabin is painted by Tamiya XF-64 Red Brown.


Step 3. I have applied a varnish of Tamiya X-22 Clear on the painted surfaces. Everything dries 30 minutes.


Step 4. I have applied AK-089 Heavy Chipping liquid on a frame and a body. I have covered details of a cabin with AK-088 Worn Effects liquid, a roof of a cabin of AK-089 Hevy Chipping.


Step 5. I have painted a frame and a body Lifecolor UA761 Burned Stains paint.

This is too cool martslaybro ! Great structures, working with the Dremel is great fun and very effective for weathering !

Step 6.I have made a rigid wet brush chips of the top paint coat. Result:


Step 7.To keep result, I have put a glossy varnish of Tamiya X-22.
Step 8. When the varnish has dried, I have applied liquid for chips of AK-088 Worn Effects.



Step 9. I have applied Lifecolor UA021 Light Grey paint.

Step 10. I have made a rigid wet brush chips of the top paint coat.
Step 11. I have put Tamiya X-22 Clear. After the varnish has dried was are applied AK-088 Worn Effects liquid. The cabin and a body are painted by Lifecolor UA258 Flashed 4BO and UA260 paint 4BO.
Step 12. Chips are made a wet rigid brush.

Step 13. I have painted necessary parts of wheels and a bumper Lifecolor UA207 Schwarzgrau and UA536 Tornado interrior paint.





Step 14. I have painted a back wall of a cabin a thin layer of Lifecolor UA255 Olive Drab Flashed shade.



Step 15. I have put a varnish of Tamiya XF-86-Flat Clear. We dry

Step 16. I have gathered model details (except wheels). I have applied Wilder GP-04 Dry Russian Earth dust. In some places I have put Wilder NL-07 Dark Rust Effect. The model dries.



Step 17. The model of the car is collected.




Time to be engaged in a pedestal.

Stage 3. Pedestal.

Step 1. I cut out a rectangle of the necessary size from the material Penoplex.


Step 2. I have applied acrylic hard putty. I have applied acrylic hard putty. After hard putty drying, I have processed a surface by means of Wider Sander.




Step 3. I have put Tamiya Surface Primer White


Step 4. After drying, I have painted with Tamiya XF-2 Flat White.



Step 5. Over paint I have sprayed Tamiya XF-86 Flat Clear.



Step 6. I have applied AK-088 Worn Effects liquid.

Step 7. I have painted acrylic paint Mr.Hobby H317 Gray.


Step 8. When paint has almost dried, a rigid wet brush has made chips.




Step 9. The result has fixed by a varnish of Tamiya XF-86 Flat Clear.

Step 10. Step 10. I have made oil Wilder paints weathering.

Step 11. I have finally consolidated result by an opaque varnish of AK-Interactive AK-190 Matte Varnish.

Step 12. I have made supports for model of a plastic tube.


Step 13. I have painted them in rusty color Tamiya XF-64 Red Brown paint. I have put an opaque varnish of AK-190.


Step 14. I have fixed supports in base.


Time for garden works has come.
 


Step 15. On base I have planted plants. I used the available plants from Fredericus-Rex and Woodland Scenic.

The basis is ready.



Step 16. I have fixed model on base.

Work is finished.

This is one of the coolest bases I've seen, very effective as it really SHOWS the model with those front wheels lifted up !
