Worked on the base coat this weekend. I used my new PS770 .18mm GSI Creos Airbrush to free hand paint the camo scheme. I used a mix of Tamiya and Vallejo paints mixed together to get the colours I was happy with. This is my version of
RAL 7028, RAL 8017 and RAL 6003. Next up will be to paint out the tools, tracks, MG's etc. then some washes and weathering to blend everything together.

Tiger I Complete. I weathered it with W&N and Abteilung 502 oils as well as Vallejo and Mig weathering pigments. Tried to portray a dusty tank moving on a dry late summer road in Normandy. The driver's hatch is just dry fitted for now as I am going to build a vignette for it next and add some crew figures.

Just a few foot notes to the build:

-The Fuel drum is from a Tamiya set. I used AK chipping effects on it by first painting it in German Hull Red then Dark Yellow. After chipping was done I added some road dust from Abteilung 502 oils and ochre pigments.

- The AFV Club decals disintegrated when I went to put them on. They just came apart in like a million pieces. So, luckily I had a another set from Bison decals which I used. The numbers on the rear turret box are actually better than the kit decals i.e. thinner and longer in shape which is more like the real tank.

- I re-painted the turret box to better match the actual tank.

- The spare track on the front of the tank are spares from the AFV Club individual track link set. The ones on the side are a mix of AFV Club and TMD tracks.

-I flubbed the numbers on the left side of the turret, they are crooked. Looked good though when I originally put them on but oh well. All I can say about that is I have seen worse on actual German tanks.

- Some of the close up shots have a bit a blueish tinge to the background this is the result of having to darken the photo a bit to bring out the details as the original was kind of washed out. Could not fix that with my software. Sorry. All photos uploaded in TIFF format to avoid detail loss when resizing the photos. Resizing photos and saving as JPEG's cause detail loss.
