Great plan, I've used the same concept for armour. There is a wee bit of tweaking you need to do. AND ALWAYS QUADRUPLE check your math. Those eastern European paper kits aren't as accurate as they seem

I'll be following this with interest. You've chosen a nice type of locomotive for this scratchbuild project.
Using a paper model as a template is a good idea, and with a collection of reference photos this should work.
If you don't loose your mojo in counting rivets and endless calculations, this project should be big fun.
We're here to support you.
Best regards ! AG.

Don't overlook using parts from O gauge (1/48) catalogs as a source of parts. Wheels, drivers, couplers and other difficult to scratch components for narrows gauge trains can often be found in O gauge.

Switching tracks! Added some more rivets..... Installed some of the brake parts. Learning things as I go along like some holes don't need to be drilled or damage will occur. :pinch: The second locomotive will be better.

Building the locomotive wheels.
This is the assembly jig.
The wheels are built up in layers. I have decided to go with a solid cast wheel instead of a spoke version.
On the frame.

Ok I know. It's not military and it certainly doesn't fly, but here's another update. I continued to work on the drive wheels for the "The Little Engine That Could". Counter weights and driver offsets added.
Thanks for looking.

I assembled most of the left side wheels. I still need to add the driver cam's, but the loco is setting on all four drive wheels.
The wheels were pretty tough, but I'm sure there will be more challenges to come.
Thanks for following along!
