Good evening, Its about the time to build a MiG 21 after Ive seen a lot of them in original here (I live in Eastern Germany). I got twqo MiG 21 kits here, and Im gonna start with the MF version (ProfiPack). The seat is only the beginning... Strange that a Games Workshop color fits the color of the PE parts. Of course this color isnt 100 per cent correct - and as always, Ill keep it up with a little bit of freedom of art here and there (would be much more complicated to repaint the PE parts I guess).

Looks like a good start! The Eduard MiGs are great kits.

Thats true - I only hear good things about them. Meanwhile, the seat is in the office. Here and there, I toned the blueish color a bit down with some greenish accents and assembled the "cigar". Again no fitting issues here. More kits like that please.

Welcome Bill. Next stop: the body work. There are a lot of details here, especially in the wheel bay. Oxygen bottles, support pipes for several liquids, the so called "Willy can" in front of the windshield - its hidden under a small opening and contains pure alcohol to clean the front screen) etc. Very well done Eduard, its a pure joy. Original: The kit parts: PS: I removed the lamp (?) besides the yellow pipe, it seems its not neccessary for this variant

Good jo so far, Lucas, I like the seat details and your research for the wheel bay. For your interest: this is a tonal correction of your reference image, there's really a circular feature at the same position, but seemingly without "bulb"(?) Merken

And there we are: The MiG got wings. A little bit of putty was needed, due to a small fitting problem in the front part of the belly - nothing too serious and not the mistake of Eduard. Another bonus besides the very good fitting: the flaps. They can be installed in every position you wish (same for the side rudder btw). And again, I learned something in addition, for example that the inner side of the exhaust was partially covered by greenish teflon. Pure black, gun metal or similar would be wrong in this case. So far so very good. For its gonna be a GDR version, I got some AeroBonus rocket launchers (UB-16-57, Art.No. 480007) and a Soviet pilot (480143). GDR ground crews are VERY hard to find, this should be very close. FYI: I was told that PlusModel will bring a Multicar M-22 soon in 1/48 scale. This very... erm... unique car was quite popular here and was used in many variants. ipmsdeutschland.de/FirstLook/Plus_Model/4048_Multicar_M22/Plus_Multicar_M22.html

Thank you Wes. Troubled times at home these days, so theres only a smaller "Level Up" today. > Main body almost done (the rear rudders will stay off so I can better paint them and the exhaust) > Wheels and the figure are in progress. As always these parts are very detailed too, even two different wheel covers are included. The base shows a picture of Preschen AB from above in 1989, and there will be a GDR medal as well saying "Für hervorragende Verdienste" [i. e. "For extraordinary achievements"].
