... painted in flip flop nail polish, .... Hi, Can you explain a litlle more specific please? Do you mean sprayed with nail polish? Are those the color(s) used? I sprayed it on, nail polish is like lacquer, and needs to be thinned about 50%, to the consistency of while milk. Most are translucent when sprayed, so it will take many coats to build color to where you want it. The color I used switches from green to purple, depending on how the light hits it. Hope this helps.

Reduced it with lacquer thinner to the consistency of milk.

It certainly opens up a new pallet of colors. Just remember, nail polish is fairly translucent, so it will take many coats to build up color.
