I have completed a 75mm resin figure of a Cpl. 19th Indiana Volunteer Infantry in 1862. It is a resin figure produced by the firm FER Miniatures. I painted it in my usual Andrea, Vallejo and Scale 75 acrylic paints. I is an OOB model the only things I added were sling swivels on the musket and water bottle stopper chain. I made the fence out unused medical tongue depressors, grass was made from static grasses and for the longer grasses I used wire with fine sand for the seeds. I hope my fellow modellers do not get fed up with looking at figures with Hardee hats, sorry Bruce for the double posting. Please enjoy and thanks for popping by. Dennis

Fantastic work Dennis. The 19th holds a special place in my heart. That's the unit we portrayed when I was re-enacting.

Thanks for your kind comments lads. I am glad this little fellow has a special meaning for you Bruce being an Indiana resident. I must admit that the ACW is a favourite period of mine I hope to do more from this range. Dennis

I know the figurine, Fernando Ruiz Ceano is moving so well with his new brand, FeR Miniatures, one of my favorite last apparitions. I think you did a very good job, but I don't understand why the eyes are not finished. Nicolae

Hi Nicolae, the eyes are finished, but the standard of my photography is not great. I gave him very tired eyes as I imagined him having to march a long way after a not very good nights sleep. Dennis

Dennis, As you say, you can't have enough Hardee hats. I happened to be going through some stuff, and found this.

Bruce thank you for taking the time to post the great image of the Hardee hat. The one thing that has always struck me is the very matt finish of a felt hat. I am at present working on the Andrea 54mm model of Robert Duvall playing Lt Col Kilgore in Apocalypse Now, his signature Air Cavalry hat is really dead matt black. Incidentally the Air Cav bought these hats from Police/State Trooper suppliers Thanks again Bruce, here is an picture of the Kilgore Hat.

Thanks Dennis. I will always remember the sight as we were marching out on the first day at Gettysburg in 1988. There were about 700 guys, all wearing Hardees in front of me.
