Hi all I tried this idea and it seems to have worked ok so I thought I’d share it. I wanted to mask the wheels for my Tamiya Tilly and this idea came to mind so I thought…why not? First off I sprayed the wheels… Then I masked using normal washers. The key is get a perfect fit and make sure it’s central on the hub. Secure using Blu-Tac or similar… Spray tyre colour, let it dry, remove and use again… Final (ish) result; fitted to Tilly and weathered. Easy peasy, cost negligible. Smudge

Great tip on masking, I lucked out using washers for backing plates on WIP vehicle, amazing what you find at the D.I.Y. stores that is the right size.

Hi guys
Glad you find the idea useful. I also tried using coins but there's a greater range of washer sizes to play with and they sit nicely over raised hubs unlike the coins.
I need to raid the lad's vans at work LOL

Hey Smudge can I steal your post and put it on SMA so everybody there can see it too? No problem at all, steal away mate. Just give a nod towards MSC if you don't mind and can you share the link I've not really looked at SMA? Smudge
