This jet has finally grown legs with the landing gear now installed. I have also finished the painting process and unmasked the covered areas after some weathering and an applied pinwash . Many little fiddly bits to still paint and install as well as arming this bird. As stated earlier, I chose to install the center line fuel tank in order to fully arm this Mig with two R-77's and 4 R-73's.

I am nearing the end of this build an finally got it armed. Boy, with the nose weight this model is becoming heavy. As an update, I finally found the instructions for the stencils....it was on the outside bottom of the box that I put aside since the beginning of the build. Never noticed it and by perusing it, it appears I have passed the research test by placing the stencils with reference pics. Another negative to the kit instructions is the total mislabeling of the stencils for the weapon mounts, luckily, the illustrations were accurate enough to compare to. The next update will be the last but with this kit there always seems to be more to add or do. I am having difficulty manipulating the model with all the bristling details.

Missiles complete. Note the photoetched fins near the nose finished with my new Chrome markers

This bird has come to roost...er at least in my display cabinet. I have finally finished the Mig and I really like how this kit built up, even with the number of shortcomings. BTW, speaking of shortcomings, I found another fellow on line who illustrated the exact build/fit issues that I had so it is comforting to know it really wasn't my ineptitude. I hope I captured the well worn look shown in the pictures earlier in the thread. Well anyway, on with the final pics:
