Leon, what I did for a commission build was to cut the plastic rungs off, and drill the boom for wire rungs that I inserted before painting. Hope this helps, Joel.

Afternoon fellas! Got the upper and lower hull and front glacias on.After about a half hour and some very colorful language i got the boom in place and some of the cables installed. The cable in front needs to be cut back when i'm ready to install the cleavis.Time for a short break as this is really testing my patience. Hope you like the progress. One note guys! I had to enlarge the holes in parts B7 with an .063 drill as they were really tight for parts B6 to fit into. 001 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr 002 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr 003 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr 004 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr Thanks for looking! Tobi thank you! Yes i would recommend the kit. So far no major issues. The only think i don't like is the silver colored PE that came in the kit. It's a pain to work with.

I may have just missed this, but what's the "cable" made of? Is it wire?

Dupes, the cables are thick and thin string!

Did you anneal it prior to bending? A hot flame sometimes does magic to PE! And you can harden it again in cold water after you're done...

Leon, the AFV Club link to link tracks are very nice. The only problem I had was they can't take a enamel wash. Are you going to paint the kit in NATO 3 color?

Joel,NATO 3 color is the plan! I hear you on the enamal wash. That's why i prefer the Friuls.

Evening fellas! I almost had a near disaster with this build awhile ago.I had just finished adding some more bits to the upper rear hull and was getting ready to put this away for the night when the boom lunged forward and broke and one of the pins popped out.As you can see step 9 i circled where the part broke free.Evidently it was a week glue joint and i fixed it with a little CA glue for a stronger bond. The pin in step 10 ended up on the floor and was luckly recovered.I have to say my heart was in my throat for a minute. 001 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr 002 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr

Thanks CD! Looks like i'm going to need to be extra careful with the boom up while glueing parts on the rear hull.

Great save Leon! You could have made another pin out of styrene rod, but that would have been a PITA. Oh I forgot to mention this, the reason you are having difficulty with the PE is that it is stainless steel (or CRES for the more OCAR among us!) Heating it didn't help when I built the one I did for commission. Talk more soon, Joel.
