My new years resolution was to build HALF as many builds as Dupes did in 2016..... for simplification, Im gonna use the number 40 (I know... I think it was 42) but since 20 for me is gonna be quite a challenge as it is, I am thinking Ill just throw all my pictures in this single thread..... but we shall see how that works out... My gut reaction is its going to get pretty confusing when I have 3 builds going on at the same time, like now. Anywho.....for starters today I am listing and showing the builds that are not yet completed and will count towards 2017..... We will be hopefully finishing an M-3 Stuart, Pak 40, USS Ticonderoga, Star Blazers Cozmo Zero, Aliens APC, M-7 Priest (not shown). Lastly, there is ALWAYS the Mancave/Hobby room that has yet to be finished.... Walls need sanding and painting, lighting needs adjusting, Floor raised and leveled, and a door..... LOL

Trying to pace against Dupes is always a challenge even with a 50% handicap! Off to a great start though Brian!

I'm hoping you're modelling a Ticonderoga-class rather than the "Tico" (CG 47) herself; the first five of the class didn't have the VLS system (they had a pair of old-fashioned twin-arm launchers) - hence their early retirement. However, I'm pretty sure with 22 others to choose from you'll be able to find one which matches the equipment fit of your model. However, it's worth noting that at least some Ticos had an early version of the VLS which didn't have the full 64 cells, three of these were replaced by a hatch for a collapsible crane so the system could be reloaded at sea (but this proved impractical, if not downright dangerous).
Regards,
M

Niiiiice! I'll be following along for sure. Hope you can pull it off! I'm voting for the Aliens APC to go first if that means anything.

Regards, M Thank you for that info!! This versions gonna be the "Lake Erie" so the VLS should be somewhat accurate.... But your information on Tico i very interesting and id like to know more if you have specific reference stuff (I have a Ticonderoga class in 1/350th and the info you gave would make a nice build) Sorry Dupes, the APC is the shelf queen of the bunch.... the M-3 has to be done for nationals so its priority 1. couldnt just slap the interior together, after reviewing my reference material. I scratched out some oil coolers and made my own ammo storage bins. I got some 40 mm rounds from an AFV weapons accessory kit and sliced them into individuals to add. The kit ammo tray is on the left to show the kit part... with the bottom half of my scratch build on the right.... and no blood was shed today!!

Good luck Brian! Maybe it will help you to reach your target if you can ride bike real good like Dupes does.
