Well, soo-prize, soo-prize, soo-prize! I couldn't generate the mojo to get back into the M47, or the T-62, or the M10, or the Abrams I started years ago, and I really wanted to do smoe modeling yesterday, so the solution was easy, I just pulled out a Magach, and a relatively new kit at that. Kind of like comfort food, if you get my drift.... Also, I had the Friuls largely assembled, so that helped. I have some good pics of the -7c in Michael Mass' book, and a few others, so it's off to the races. So far, I've used the DEF Models rear engine doors and some slightly better final drives from another Academy kit, and a fair amount of MrSurfacer 500. Pics: I also have Tamiya's JS-2 up there, Friuls assembled, just in case.

Nice start Russ. Is this the Magach with the reactive armor? Talk more soon, Joel.

Nice start Russ. Is this the Magach with the reactive armor? Talk more soon, Joel. It's the last iteration of the M60 in IDF service, based on the M60 slick, with the wedge-shaped armor suite on the turret, very futuristic looking.

I probably shouldn't ask this, but, what is a woogie?

A woogie is a favorite accessory/toy/blanket.... anything that makes one feel comfortable, originally a small blanket or wrap. I think the term was used in the movie "Mr Mom". So, pics of the woogie with some more suspension work done: A little gizmology for the inside of the swing arms/axles, not totally correct but better than holes.

Critters will not deter me from modeling! So, a little more today. Academy actually supplies the proper M60-style drive sprocket, with a 14 tooth ring and narrower hub, and after adding the mud holes and doing some file work to get the pitch right, looks pretty good. I've also added the rear tow hooks, filched from Esci M60 and Tamiya Merkava kits, to the rear, and started the stowage bin lids on the back. More later..... It sure is good to be modeling again, now I've gotta go look at what everybody else is doing!

Still on the bench! So far I have all the bits and bobs on the hull, with the exception of the return rollers and skirts. I've added a bunch of bolt heads, but really trying to keep it simple. Pics: There are a few pieces that Academy has improved over their older M60 kits, but I'm still doing a lot of pin removal and seam cleaning. No worries though, it's modeling.

Progress: the turret is largely finished, some minor fit issues with the added armor suite, not bad, and Academy supplies six tow cable hangers for the turret basket when there should be seven, so I had to fudge the mounting points and use five to get the same symmetrical look, but that's about it. The Urdan cupola is very nice, new parts, as well as the loader's hatch. Both are operable, not sure if I'll use figs or not yet. Gun tube is together, primed and puttied, still needs work. One item: the entire sprue from the old Magach6 is in the box, with very few pieces from it being used for this kit, so I'll have lots of useful spares, including a complete Urdan cupola. As I've read about, the cupola for the 7c is very nice, but noticeably smaller than the old Magach6 part, interesting. Pics so far: More later.

Thanks guys. Andy, anti-slip is a little rougher than what I have in pics, more like what's on Merkavas. Near as I can tell, the areas on the 7c with anti-slip almost look like an additional thin panel is laid over the glacis armor and turret front modules. I'm going with it though, life's too short.
