Hi all Having seen Brian's (Fhvn4d) 2017 Builds (starts, progress, finishes.) thread , I thought I'd do my own take on the usual yearly completions thread a lot of you do, I hope you don't mind.... Partly because because I build a lot of multi kit sets but also because my dining room table doubles as my modelling desk, I'm not able to leaving painting and other modelling gumpf hanging around, with lots of kits in various stages of completion or partly painted. So I've got into the habit of doing lots of builds that get stored away, which when I have enough done all come out for a mass priming session. They'll then make another appearance for a mass base coat session, detaills painting session, gloss coating, decals and so it goes on. So this thread will show lots (hopefully ) of models throughout the year in various stages of completion. Some will get their own threads but some won't. Thanks as always for stopping by! Andrew ------------------------------------ First up3x 25pdrs plus 2 limbers (PSC) - some still need their wheels 1x 17pdr Pheasant (PSC) 2x Pak 40s (Revell) 1x Churchill Mk V (PSC) 1x Panther G - Test run for Cuckoo (Armourfast)

Andrew, your off to a good start! Sounds like you have a good plan there. Leon Thanks for stopping by! It seems to work, although I would rather have the luxury of being able to leave it all out but that would involve converting the loft at £xxxxx and we've already spent a small fortune doing the house up following the summer move. Thanks for warning me that you are building a vast army. I better get my Godzilla kit out... PaK 40 guns look lovely by the way! Andy I would say thanks for stopping by but......Godzilla!! Yikes..... That's a little bit over the top! Looks like I need to call in some reinforcements......air power maybe.... keeping it in the British WW2 gaming context, I'm thinking of a couple of squadrons of rocket firing Typhoons!! As for the Pak 40s - I have a love/hate relationship with these. They're also a QB kit and although they do look nice (at least for wargaming) the fit and 'plastic' is another matter. I discovered too late in the day that these are re-run of an Italieri kit, which was made in reasonably hard plastic. These are not. The plastic is that really soft stuff Airfix soldiers are made of. I can actually bend the barrels round in a circle and they won't break! Also, supposedly no glue was required but one small part kept coming adrift and usual modelling glue was useless. PVA seems to be working so far but I feel the CA calling if it goes again. But I suppose at least I never have to worry about breaking them! ATB Andrew

Wow! Soft plastic that it won't break even bending it all way around? It sounds like my kind because I break every barrel if I don't replace them with metal aftermarkets!!!

Wow! Soft plastic that it won't break even bending it all way around? It sounds like my kind because I break every barrel if I don't replace them with metal aftermarkets!!! That's exactly why I got the metal barrels for the next set of builds. In the heat of a 'battle' with my son I turned the turret on one of his Churchills and hadn't noticed the barrel had been depressed between the fronts of the two tracks.....😥

That's all from this year? Watch out dupes...competition. Wingnuts Thanks for stopping by! They're called quickbuild kits for a reason.... Seiously though the arty and AT guns were actually started at the end of last year but I still have to do a bit of work on them, so using my warped logic, they still count. The Panther is something I actually started at the beginning of last year but went on hold in part because of a minor mojo failure but mainly because we moved house and had a lot of work to do on it. As for taking on Dupes...... ...... I don't think that's humanly possible.....I'm conviced he is part machine the way he turns stuff out to such a high level. Besides even if I built every item I currently have in my stash, I still think I'd be about 10 short of his finally tally for last year. Thanks again for checking in. Andrew

Hi all Three more kits joining the production line - and it's entirely my son's fault! He absolutely, 100% insisted, almost demanded - honestly he did - that he wanted to "build some tanks" the weekend before last and decided they had to be something I hadn't already started - I promise! This time three 1/72 PSC M5A1 Stuarts, for which a thread will be appearing at a forum near you soon! Take care Andrew ------------------------------------

The Invasion of Stuart tanks!!! They all look lovely... Andy That's not the half of it......well, actually, thinking about it, that's exactly the half of it. Three more Stuarts of the turretless 'jalopy' variety will be making an appearance alongside them soon. As for the kits they're not bad at all, being for wargaming they have a few accuracy issues but all in all their nice lttle kits. Both my kids desciribed them as "cute". Thanks as always for stopping by! Andrew

Nice work.
Man has 1/72nd scale changed since my time working with em...... amazing details Cheers PJ I think They're nice little kits and as you know these are aimed at wargaming so are pretty simple. It means my son can help as you see and yet they give me enough scope to develop my limited skills.
