Nice start Jpc. I've got the E-4 version of this kit in the stash and the detail is very good. This will build up into a very nice kit. I'll follow along with great interest.

Good start. Looking forward to more. I've never built a Dragon aircraft and would like the see how it goes together.

I have several Dragon 1/48 planes in my stash and all have excellent details. I have built a couple of them and they have excellent fit and the included pe parts add that much detail. You are gonna like this kit.

Rick the Cyber Hobby 109's are the most accurate 109s out there. I've got them all but the E-7, and want that one. Makes the others look like 1970's kits. gary

I've noticed in Dragon's instructions they give you steps to do but they don't give you the sequence. In step 2,when putting together cockpit, put parts C2, 12,19 and 20 in first. Also put parts F8 and F20 in before F5, F4, and F15. I put F5,4,15 in first and had to wedge F8 and F20 into place, and it wasn't easy. Then drop in the seat. My first attempt at PE seatbelts I have already chipped the cockpit but I still need to apply weathering. Hope this helped wing_nut.

Looking good! Dragon's instructions are a universal puzzle no matter the subject...they do the same thing with their instructions in armor, ships, aircraft, etc. Always have to be on the lookout!

Jpc
Looking very nice indeed!!!
My 8 year old is VERY impressed. He saw the flight console and said "that's awesome" and then said "no offence dad but he's much better than you" - which is true!
Will be following this one.
Take care
Andrew

You be sure and tell him, that he REALLY made my day when he said that about the control panel and that I am going to work really hard to make this a fine looking plane so I hope he approves when I'm finished.

So much for this being an OOB, I dropped it over the weekend and broke the cockpit guns off. So I had to order some brass ones. Remember the rubber parts that wasn't rubber anymore? I heated them in a coffee cup in microwave for 5 minutes and reshaped them in place and held them there until they hardened. PITA. the one that was broken into 2 pieces was a real pain. I finished chipping cockpit I attached the flaps to the wing and it was very clumsy with the brass PE parts. On the next wing for parts D8 and C44 once put together designated "G" and parts D12 and C28 designated as "F" I found it was easier to put MA16 in "G" and MA15 in "F" before attaching them together using part MA1 Still working. More later.

Sorry about the guns! This is the main reason I always order metal barrels. Knowing me I break them all the times! LOL Another great update by the way!
