Hello all,
Here is my first offering of 2017. It is a 54mm Resin Figure of a "Nurse Voluntary Aid Detachment France 1916. it is produced by Tommy's War The sculptor was Benoit Couchies.
There was very little flash and very little clean up. The fit of the 2 arms was achieved fairly easily.
I painted her in a selection of acrylic paints and it was a pleasure.
I based her in a military hospital in France, her pose led me to imagining her in a post operative recovery ward, in this case a ward for amputees. The man/officer in the bed has only one leg hence the crutch.
The floor is made out of Billings Boats Obechi wood and is laid to represent parquet flooring, I have used varnish and water soluble crayons to show differents shades and some wear and tear.
The bed end is made from wire, plastic beads, pins, plastic tubing and plastic rod, The bed itself is a made from MDF with a milliput blanket over a single plastic foot.
The crutch is also made from obechi wood. I made the bed and the cructch slightly lager than my nurse show as to portray her as a smaller statured girl.
The longest part of the build was the parquet flooring.
